Instagram ID: anjav3 Food/Drinks: - Desserts to try are Deep Fried Mars Bars (for chocolate loves) as well as their Coconut ice cream which isn’t always available but it’s so delicious! - For appetizers you can’t go wrong with Shrimp tempura. It’s always served piping hot and fresh - Izakaya roll is the best roll they have on their menu, it definitely it a must try! We order that every single time. Even though it has eel and tuna in it, it doesn’t taste or smell fishy at all. It’s packed with so many flavors and the tempura shrimp adds the perfect amount of crunchy-ness - The Deep fried scallops are done perfectly. Never under or over cooked, always a pleasure to start the meal with - Beef teriyaki as you can see in the video is always served hot and fresh. The teriyaki flavor is the perfect consistency so it sticks to the meat and isn’t runny Other Comments: - The ambiance of the restaurant suits the food that is being served as well at the culture that the food derives from - Seating is a bit cramped but despite that I still find it intimate enough when eating with your partner or friend - The restaurant is always clean and the service is always friendly - I love the personal touch of being greeted when we are being shown to our table, it makes us feel welcomed - Overall our favourite local sushi restaurant. The best quality of food in all of Kitchener-Waterloo Instagram ID: anjav3

Good food but an unfortunately mediocre experience for the price—$40 a person before drinks, tax, and tips. Once the restaurant got full, our order got a little chaotic. We received a few things we didn’t order and didn’t receive some things at all. We mentioned it as people dropped off wrong orders but it was mostly ignored. They sometimes would take the plate away and other times just left it anyways.(We took a photo of our first order so we were able to check back a little.) 30 minutes before our 90 minutes was up, our main server said it was last call for our order. We asked if we had anything else coming (because multiple things hadn’t come yet and we didn’t want to over order). She said we had to tell her what was missing and they’d send them. She wouldn’t check if we had anything left. But 1 hour later and after being served multiple things we didn’t order, we didn’t want those original items anymore. It was all just a little disorganized for the price. Since some things took 2 mins to arrive and others took 30 minutes to arrive, it was difficult to know when to reorder things that didn’t arrive. Our server said we needed to say something sooner next time. But we had mentioned it every time something wrong arrived. It’s really good food. But the ordering experience was more of what we’re used to from much cheaper all you can eat sushi places.

Uber Eats takeout experience. I've had better sushi at Ye's AYCE and also just grabbing pre-made sushi at Superstore. Which says something, given the reputation of this restaurant. I'm not sure if they just don't care about takeout orders, if this was an off night or what... Waited about an hour to receive my order, was so disappointed when it arrived. I ordered: - Spicy Salmon Roll - Spicy Crabmeat Roll - Black Dragon Roll - Takoyaki, Dumplings and Deep Fried Tofu **These items were good but not the reason I order from a highly rated sushi place. This is the first sushi order I've ever received without ginger. Not sure why it was omitted, didn't ask for it to be left out. It doesn't state anywhere that the rolls are "spicy crispy" rolls. I was expecting to receive spicy salmon and spicy crabmeat, not a roll filled 50% with tempura bits and a touch of spicy mayo. I was also surprised to see the crabmeat roll prepared like this. Every other place I've ordered from flakes the crab meat and mixes it with spicy mayo. Overall very disappointing and dry. Black dragon roll was disappointing in size for $15. Was originally going to order from Ken Sushi House and honestly, I should have. Hell, I could have ordered from Yo Sushi and been less disappointed. I regret placing this order and won't be ordering from Kinkaku again.

I trusted other reviews and came here. This place is HORRIBLE, I am being very generous giving it two stars, simply because I absolutely loved the mustard shrimp. This is fake all-you-can-eat, as your time is limited to 75 minutes. First 15 minutes you wait for food and last 15 minutes you cannot order, so you only get 45 minutes to place orders despite all the delays. I sometimes spend more time eating a meal at home. Some food was very stale and unfresh. The only fresh options were the ones that are listed as must-try, which are 5-6 items. Those are pretty good The menu and paper are dirty/sticky, no iPad option to place orders, no images There is NO DESSERT! You only get one Melona bar after your meal, which is not even stored properly and is melted/wrinkly Also, they did not fulfil some of my orders. My friend who ate here often informed me that they do it intentionally and you have to ask twice in order to receive the item $33 for lunch menu is a bit expensive, considering how small the menu is I believe the positive reviews are from international students who do not know better. Oh well, at least the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is decent. There is a nearby all-you-can-eat sushi that trumps this petty restaurant in quality. Will not eat here again

I’ve gotten sushi here many times and noticed that progressively the quality got worse and worse. I ordered sushi rolls yesterday and felt the salmon rolls were gone bad and tasted old. I spit them out and the rest are in the container thrown out whole. All night till early morning my stomach hurt so bad that I couldn’t sleep. I was extremely gassy and had pain in my upper abdomen and was super nauseous. The only reason I didn’t go to the hospital was because the wait times are insane. I called and talked to the employee about the situation and about the possible case of food poisoning. I was told to go to the hospital to get tests done to prove it was their sushi even though I didn’t eat anything else. It’s understandable that they need proof but that’s why customer reviews are a thing + again didn’t wanna spend all night at the hospital just to cry and come back home. Anyways, completely understand their situation but this was the last time I’ll ever get sushi from here. Also, i super dislike how they add so much bits to the sushi rolls. Completely kills the vibes.

Kinkaku is perhaps the best all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi restaurant in the Kitchener and Waterloo area. What stands out most is the consistent quality of food. The ingredients are premium, fresh and most importantly delicious. Kinkaku is great value for money without sacrificing quality. They have a modest select for their dinner and lunch menus, which I actually prefer. They are not trying to overwhelm the customer with vast number of similar-looking dishes with slight modifications and different names, to the point that you don't quite know what you're eating. Instead, every item is unique and taste delicious. My favourite is the sashimi. You should definitely try items marked "must try". Couple of things to keep in mind: 1. Dinner is usually very busy. Wait times can exceed 1-1.5 hours. Check the live wait time on Google Maps before you go. 2. Reservations can only be made for groups of 6 or more people. 3. There is a 90 minute time limit and service can be slow during peak hours, so it might be a good idea to be ready with your order.
