I was anticipating this visit to what was seems to be a great place, BUT the disappointment wasn't far to come. *** Waited for 1 hour just to get something that I didn't ordered **** The day was seem to be a busy day , so I can understand a long waiting time. . . But dear Manager if you reading this take your notes * Nobody told us that the waiting time would be long or at least longer than usual * The tables were dirty, and was clean only half hour later when we asked * During our almost 1 hour wait time nobody come asked or offered any service * After 1 hour we were ready to leave, but we got lucky and the food came out, just to realize that my side dish was replaced in the last minutes , honestly if prior to that the waitress just was asking me if that's ok to change my side dish most likely that my response beas OK _____________________________________________ To conclude we return both our dishes and left the place Our planed order was supposed to be around 150$ + 20$ for a tip + good review But instant you got 1 table occupied for 1 hour and got 11.5$ + bad review _____________________________________________ Definitely won't recommend to any one !

Edelweiss is a time machine to an earlier Kitchener. Here's what I mean by that. The food here is heavily influenced by Bavarian and German traditions. Their schnitzel and sauerkraut is without a doubt some of the best in the region. It's definitely a "hidden gem" in that not a lot of people might consider it a place to visit. But it's definitely worth it. I had the half-dinner Cajun schnitzel, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes (as you can tell I got ahead of myself before taking the picture) and it's incredible. They have a modern take on some items, in that they do serve wonton nachos for example(which are incredibly generous portions), but they are incredibly loyal to their roots. The cost is on the more expensive side, but the portions are incredibly generous. The half-dinner was enough for me to have leftovers and not worry about dinner. I marked a little bit lower on the atmosphere only because it's a fairly dark bar with little natural lighting, but when it's the summer they have an outdoors patio to take advantage of. They also have a great beer selection, if you like wheat beers Erdinger is a great option. Either way, a great place to visit.

Our Valentine take-out was excellent. Right from the time we picked up our package, we were impressed. The meal was carefully packed with decorations that shouted with care and celebration. We thought it was so good that we paused to take a picture. We unpacked the long stem rose, the box of chocolates, the included bottle of wine and a colourful valentine towel so that we could prepare our table. We went on to enjoy a tasty meal that included shrimp cocktails, Caesar salad, individual entrees on china plates, and white chocolate mousse for dessert. Our two entrees were beef bourguignon and brie-stuffed chicken supreme. Both were tender, plentiful and tasty. Because it was take-out, there was a small amount of prep and heating required. There were clear instructions and the prep ensured that everything was perfect. We look forward to getting back to dining in.and hope that the Edelweiss will continue to have special day menus. We have always known that the Edelweiss provides excellent food but this far exceeded what you might think you would get from a sports bar. Thanks for an enjoyable meal experience at home. Show less

I had a special request, I was craving a cheese dog but cheese dogs are sorta hard to find, especially in Kitchener, a small city I was unexpectedly visiting in Southern Ontario. I looked at the menu for a few minutes until the bartender came back around to check on me. I looked up to the beautiful lady and said, “You know what, I feel like a cheese dog, but I don’t see any on the menu”, and she replied, “Sugar, we don’t make cheese dogs around these parts of town, but a man like you shouldn’t be eating a cheese dog, a man like you should be eating a chilli cheese dog with a side of crisps and a pickle”. I was shocked, my mouth agape for a solid 2 minutes, I was literally speechless as I gazed into her beautiful eyes. I picked my jaw up off the floor and exclaimed “Well then that’s what I’ll have. I suppose I shall engorge this chilli cheese dog, crisps and pickle slice”, as I slipped her a twoonie. If you’ve never been to Canada, a twoonie is a Canadian $2 coin. The twoonie is worth approximately 20 USD, a big tip for a city where the minimum wage is 40 cents an hour.

In less than 5 minutes she returns with the most amazing looking cheese dog I have ever seen in my life. It was delicious. It had just the right amount of chilli and it was loaded with cheese, sour cream and bacon bits. I might even consider that cheese dog to have been the best thing I have ever tasted. The pickle had this perfect glistening effect, it was so juicy that I didn’t even need a drink. It may have been the freshest pickle to ever grace a mans plate for lunch. I ate the pickle and tried hard to hide the tears of joy from the bartender as she watched me swallow the pickle whole.

The crisps were horrible, they were these weird long semi mushy / semi crispy things, nothing like the crisps we get back home in the UK. I threw them on the floor, emptied a whole bottle of ketchup on top of them and then stomped on them after eating just one of them. It looked like a big pile of coagulated blood when I was done squishing them on the floor. I had given her a huge tip after ordering before I even ate anything, a twoonie, equivalent to 20 USD, and she serves me crisps that are soft and rectangular? The only crisp I’ve ever eaten was round, skinny, and had a nice crispy sound when you crunches down on it. I can usually eat a handful of crisps at a time but these ones were so awkwardly shaped that you have to pick up one at a time? The potato inside these crisps is also somewhat mushy.

5/5 - I would return and order multiple chilli cheese dogs and pickles. If they ask me if I want crisps with my meal, well, I might just stand up and...

Unveiling a culinary experience of unmatched excellence, Edelweiss Restaurant has firmly established itself as a gastronomic gem in the heart of the city. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of savoring their delectable chicken Caesar wrap, and it left an indelible impression on my taste buds.

From the moment I stepped foot into this charming eatery, the ambiance captivated me with its inviting warmth and elegance. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and made me feel instantly welcome, setting the tone for an extraordinary dining experience.

Now, let me delve into the star of the show—the chicken Caesar wrap. As soon as it arrived at my table, I was met with a visually stunning presentation. The wrap was skillfully crafted with care, exhibiting the chef's attention to detail. The combination of flavors was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece.

The tender grilled chicken breast was perfectly seasoned, boasting an enticing smoky flavor that blended harmoniously with the freshness of the romaine lettuce. The hint of garlic in the Caesar dressing added a delightful tanginess to each bite, perfectly complementing the savory chicken. What truly impressed me about Edelweiss Restaurant's chicken Caesar wrap was the exceptional quality of the ingredients. Each component had obviously been meticulously sourced, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to delivering an unforgettable dining experience. The wrap was served with a side of crispy golden fries that provided a satisfying crunch, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Furthermore, the portion size was generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling truly satisfied. The service throughout my meal was impeccable, with the staff attentively catering to my needs and remaining knowledgeable about the menu.

Edelweiss Restaurant's dedication to culinary excellence shines through in every aspect of their offerings. From the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the exceptional customer service, each element contributes to an unforgettable dining experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend Edelweiss Restaurant's chicken Caesar wrap to fellow food enthusiasts seeking a remarkable culinary adventure. Embrace the opportunity to indulge in their expertly prepared dishes, and allow your taste buds to be transported to new heights.
