Franklin Pizzeria & Restaurant — Restaurant in Kitchener

Franklin used to be one of the best pizza places to eat in Kitchener, and we would order from them every week or two. Some time late in 2018 they went downhill - fast. I'm not sure if someone else took over the restaurant, or they are trying to save money, but the pizza and service are both horrendous now. I've ordered from them 3 times in the last couple of months. The first of those 3 times the pizza took 2 1/2 hours to arrive, and it wasn't the thin crust we ordered. They also forgot the dipping sauces. The second time I mentioned that they had neglected to include the dipping sauces, and to make sure they were there. 1 1/2 hours later - no thin crust, no dipping sauces. Just ordered for the 3rd and last time. Hooray! Dipping sauces, thin crust, and less than an hour to arrive! Open the boxes - the pizza is just shy of raw, with no discernible sign of pizza sauce. Instead, there is a nasty processed cheese "sauce" on it. This is the last time I will order from Franklin. They've lost my business, and it would take a miracle to...

By far the best kept secret when it comes to Pizza and Panzerotti. I have ordered over a dozen times in the last year and been impressed each time. We are starting to dive a little deeper in the menu and the Gourmet Pizza list have been a great adventure of pizza's I would not have thought of myself but I am glad Franklin's did. Pleasant, and very friendly staff on the phone and delivery drivers. I feels like a family restaurant and everyone is vested in giving you a excellent experience. It is our go to for a family treat! 3 Year update since my last review and I still can not overstate how good Franklin's is. I would score them even higher as 5/5 does not do them justice. You taste the care they take in the ingredient selection and the preparation. Franklin's Pizzeria remains the high water mark for their segment of the market - not just Pizza but the whole menu. If it was only pizza rating, I would give 5 stars! We have been going there for many years and the pizza and panzerotti are really good. But when I went there yesterday with my 3 friends the place was freezing cold. When we asked for hot tea or coffee after placing our orders, we were told NO! We asked for water heated in microwave, got same answer NO!! We thought that the owner was joking, but that was not the case! He was just rude!!! We should have left right then, but we'we already placed our orders. It also took very long time to get our food; besides us there was only one couple sitting down!
