Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House — Restaurant in Kitchener

A really nice location. Small, but simple place to grab breakfast. Wenwere quite suprised by our visit the other morning. We decided to go over for breakfast, as it's close by and we hadn't been to this location before. When we entered, we were pleasantly suprised, not busy, no line up and no wait. So after we were seated, the server asked if we could order drinks. So we ordered a pop (which comes in a can) and then an orange juice. Not freshly squeezed or anything as we later found out. While waiting for our drinks, about 10 minutes or so a lare group got up, and began to speak very loudly about how terrible the service is, how long they had been waiting, how the staff just stand in the kitchen and talk. We began to wonder if they were just being obnoxious... or if they were onto something. After that ordeal, we continued to wait for our drinks. After about 20 minutes, I figured they had just forgotten our drinks. So I got up, and the server saw me and came right over "I know I know i know you have been waiting" she said irritated with me. I said sorry, I'm just wondering if it'd be possible to get our drinks? It's been 20 minutes. Then she blamed it on the loud customers... which only left 10 minutes after we ordered the drinks.

The food came out quickly, it tasted good, the food was fine. The cinnabun pancakes were amazing!!!

After we stsrt finishing our food, we find a curly black hair, on the plate, beneath the home fries. Neither of us at the table have curly black hair, so it couldn't have been from us. So we alerted a lady who was working there, she apologized and then gave us each a coupon to use on our next visit. But the best part, the coupon expired in 2 weeks! I couldn't believe it. You expect us to come back after spending $75 dollars to spend another 75 dollars in 2 weeks after a terrible dining experience. We left the coupons there. No thanks. We even had to pay for the food we didn't eat because of the hairs stuck to the plate.

Gross, unsanitary, and silly coupons.

Won't be back there. And I know, from hearing other upset customers... we're not...

I think giving them a 1 star review is far beyond generous but unfortunately there is no option for minus 5 stars. Do not waste your money on this restaurant. The staff are not knowledgeable regarding what their food is supposed to contain. I placed an order on uber eats and after a couple minutes I saw an extra charge. I called the restaurant and the person who picked up advised the extra charge was because I requested onions in my breakfast burger but the breakfast burger does not come with onions. I explained to him that on uber eats it says it comes with onions and he denied that severally until he double checked then called back to apologize for his error. I asked for the extra charge to be reversed and he said he does not know how to do it and could contact uber eats to have the issue resolved but the restaurant is too busy now to make such call. I told him I will reach out to uber. Uber said they are not able to do an adjustment without the restaurant. I called the restaurant back asking to speak with a manager so the issue could be looked into. The manager did not even allow me to finish my sentence before dismissing me saying if you do not like the food then there is nothing we can do about it you can rate us on uber or order elsewhere. I told him he did not give me the space to even explain my concern and he kept on repeating the same rude and dismissive sentence. It is very clear that the staff and management do no know what they are doing and do not care about customer service or retention. Pls save your money and order from...

We just had breakfast here (something we've done once a season minimally if not more). We've never had an issue or sent anything back prior.

Today we ordered our drinks - when mine arrived it wasn't as anticipated but I also didn't like so I asked can you please take it away when we got our food.

Food arrived - mine was missing the sauce I didnt say anything it was busy. But the order for my husband's was completely wrong as we had ordered his pancake with only chocolate chips. It arrived with chocolate sauce, sugar and some extras. We did our best to scrape to side to eat but the pancakes themselves were very tough, almost spongey and we didnt enjoy and or finish more than a bite.

We did eat rest of our meals and when waiter approached he asked if we needed boxes (first time he had come back to check on us). I explained no we didnt that while it had the extras we didnt want it was just not good and showed him how tough it was to tear and texture. He got very defensive telling me that the entire restaurant has pancakes and were only complaint and that he comped my juice already. I simply asked for bill and he still defended it.

Was very off putting and upsetting that Vindit had to argue when we were very kind and tried to work around several things and simply gave feedback because he asked.

Unsure we will come...
