King Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Kitchener

I was a first time customer last year on Good Friday and based on the quality and experience I had I will not be returning. Firstly, they have an extremely small parking lot which was difficult to navigate when people were constantly entering and leaving the lot, the inside of the restaurant wasn't any bigger. It was extremely cramped, especially on Good Friday and anyone who entered didn't know who was served, let alone where the line formed (no staff member directed or instructed customers). The interior appeared very outdated and dirty. On Good Friday, you couldn't order any certain things on their regular menu as they only had a special menu for the holiday which is fish (very few types of fish) and chips. Once we receive our order, we were shocked at the quantity of the food we were given for the price we paid. The fish was small and not the typical size we were accustomed to and the fries was sparse.....to say the least. I will not be returning as I know there are other shops that serve great quality...

Was so looking forward to getting dinner here, based on the rave reviews. Maybe going on Good Friday was a poor choice, but we were thoroughly unimpressed. The halibut came in two 2oz pieces, the coleslaw was pretty much just shredded cabbage with the merest bit of dressing on it, and the gravy was a cold, congealed glob. There's no way it could have been given to me hot, and it became that way during the 10 minutes it took me to get home. On the plus side,the halibut was cooked perfectly and was tasty, and the fries were good. The two young ladies taking and bringing out orders were friendly and polite. Everything else, including the 30minute wait for takeout, was awful. We'll probably give it another try, but they've got a big hole to dig...

My first trip to King Fish & Chips. Small parking lot at the rear had a few spots left at 12:30. The Owner suggested the Lunch Special which was $5.69 and included 2 pieces of fish, French fries, cole slaw and a slice of lemon. It was served quickly and was hot. The fish was plentiful and very flaky and tasty. French fries were great as was the cole slaw. The meal was huge, really enough for a full dinner and delicious too. There were about 6 others there, looked like 'Regulars' and I can see why. Several people stopped in for take-outs. Comfortable surroundings in a basic way.

I have never had such a filling and tasty meal for such a low price. Totally amazing and I will...
