Food was great which is really unfortunate because I won’t return to this location simply because of the waitress.
I went in for dinner with my husband and 18 month old son. We started off with our drink order. I order a beer, my husband orders a non alcoholic beer. The waitress then looks at me, shakes her head and says “how old are you honey” with a demeaning look on her face. In which I reply I am 24 years old. I proceed to take out my ID and she says “it’s okay, I believe you”. I thought this was weird but I shrugged it off. About an hour later she asks me if I want another beer in which I reply, “ I’ll have one more please” The waitress looks at me and says “you aren’t driving tonight, are you? “ in which I reply “no”, she asks “are you sure?” I just thought it was weird considering my husband is sitting right in front of me drinking non alcoholic beer and I’m here with a toddler. Not only did I feel upset that she was questioning me about my age and whether I was driving or not, but I felt this is just an overall inappropriate way to address this. I was happy to show some ID but the way it was done was unprofessional and rude. I wonder if this is her standard practice with all her guests, regardless of age. She also reprocessed to drop the bill in our table without asking if we would want to order anything else. My husband actually wanted to order another drink but we felt rushed out. Such a weird and...
Read moreShrinkflation is REAL!! We haven't ordered the Pulled Pork Nachos in quite some time. Imagine our surprise when we learned the portion size has decreased by at least 1/2. Very disappointing to pay more for less but this seems to be the norm in Canada these days. This is why I have limited the star rating to 4.
On the plus side...our Grandson ordered the beef burger from the kids' menu and, while pricey for a kids meal, at least the portion was a decent size. Food quality was good, service was excellent.
Update: Went here recently. The Smokehouse Wrap was half the size of a different Montana's. The Smashers were chunks of potatoes in copious amounts of melted butter or oil. I told the server that the wrap was half the size of elsewhere. I did make it clear I wasn't and wouldn't ask for a discount. I thought I would get an apology but I was mistaken. I did say I would not eat the Smashers and she should take them back and give me fries. Her response was "well you have paid for an upgraded side so that's what you should get". I told her to remove the up charge for the Smashers and she reluctantly did so. Apologies for no pics. I was sure I had taken them but I guess I didn't. We have decided not to return to this Montana's. The last few times we had poor food, but I didn't do reviews in the hopes it would get better again, but it hasn't. ...
Read moreHave to say that to advertise yourself as the benchmark for Canadian BBQ is nothing short of an embarrassment especially in today’s climate.
Dined with my wife, father-in-law, and three kids this past Sunday. The atmosphere was great, kids were enthralled that’s where the positive ends.
We were sat quickly and then waited for 10mins for our server to arrive at the table. Drink orders were placed with a server that seemed to be put out by serving us. Drinks did not arrive at the table however, our server did and took our orders.
After about another 15mins our drinks arrived after we flagged down a hostess. Our food came out quickly, and the reason became clear when we were served raw chicken wings. Nothing starts a meal off right like bloody raw chicken let me tell you.
I got the brisket burger, you think if you advertise in house smoked meat you would never be served dried shaves of brisket with a thick layer of fat on the top. The food was not edible whatsoever, send it back to get remade and after finishing the rest of our food never saw the items we sent back.
When the bill arrived nothing was taken off. Thank you Montana’s for making me pay for raw food!
