If you're in the mood for authentic and delicious Salvadoran cuisine, look no further than Pupuseria Latinos. This cozy restaurant specializes in pupusas, a traditional Salvadoran dish that consists of thick corn tortillas filled with a variety of ingredients.
The pupusas here are simply amazing! They're made fresh to order and stuffed with a generous amount of flavorful fillings such as cheese, beans, pork, or loroco, a Salvadoran herb. The outer layer is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, providing a perfect texture that melts in your mouth.
Aside from the pupusas, the menu also offers other Salvadoran classics like yuca con chicharrón, tamales, and plátanos fritos. The sides, such as curtido and salsa roja, complement the dishes perfectly and enhance the overall dining experience.
The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always happy to provide recommendations on the menu. The service is prompt, and the atmosphere is cozy and authentic. The prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner with friends or family. I’ve also had them cater a wedding.
Overall, Pupuseria Latinos is a hidden gem of a restaurant that's perfect for anyone seeking authentic and delicious Salvadoran food. It's definitely worth a visit, and you'll leave feeling satisfied...
Read moreWe stopped by last night for a quick bite ... and we're so glad we did. Little hidden gem!
I was told about this resto recently, and we weren't disappointed. An acquaintance mentioned that this is where he goes for good El Salvadorian food ... and he was right!
Fantastic pupusas with their tasty red salsa (a review I read here previously said that they didn't like the "runny" salsa ... the reviewer was obviously unaware that this type of salsa is supposed to be free flowing so that it can be squeezed onto food, not used as dip. I recommend that the people do a little homework before they leave unsavory reviews.)
Tacos were flavourful and enjoyable, as we're their deserts "churros with chocolate" and "3 milk cake".
Even though this restaurant is a bit out of our way ... we'll definitely be back.
Ps. Give their horchata a try ... a beverage made of pulverized "tiger nuts" (sort of like almond milk, but better flavour) ... this was the first time I had it and I enjoyed it.
Pss. Plenty of free parking in the lot off Charles street, behind the restaurant....
Read moreWe went to Pupuseria Latinos on a weekday around evening time and it wasn’t too busy. We ordered in advance by calling and it was ready in about 15 minutes.
Initially when we first called on another day, they were so busy that they should have just said that they didn’t have the capacity to take anymore orders so we ended up going somewhere else. This wasn’t a big deal but just something to keep in mind, they’re quite busy on weekends especially.
We ordered 3 cheese pupusas and 3 chicharrón with cheese ($3.50 each with a minimum of 2 orders). We actually preferred the chicharrón with cheese but both were very good! We also got the chicken tamales ($3.99) and there wasn’t a lot of chicken and it needed a bit more flavour. I love the home atmosphere of this place and love supporting a local small business.
The staff is so sweet and the food is very reasonably priced, I definitely recommend trying out this place and I can’t wait...
