This our first experience here and it was not good.
We were looking for Indian food and stumbled upon this place coz of its rating. That set our expectations high.
We ordered take out 2 items and were not satisfied with either of them.
So here it goes:
Location of this restaurant is pretty good with not too many parking spots available. This means that it is expected to find a parking spot a bit difficult during busy times.
The entrance is not handicapped accessible and therefore, they loose one star.
They do have patio available so you can sit outside and enjoy the food, weather permitting. The indoor seating space is good as well however, they have not blocked one table between two for COVID precautions.
The quality of the food as informed earlier did not meet our expectations. Here are the reviews:
Paneer Jalfrezi - we ordered on the phone and asked them to suggest a good item of paneer. They suggested Jalfrezi, however, I believe they gave us Butter Paneer. We specifically asked for medium spicy but on the contrary it was super sweet!!! So not sure what happened there. So, we are pretty sure we were not served Paneer Jalfrezi else it was too bad in quality. However, the quality of paneer was really good, very soft!
Therefore we highly recommend this place for ppl with very less spicy tolerance. If you are looking for spicy food you might wanna double check with them before ordering.
Hence, Paneer Jalfrezi gets 2 out of 5.
Pulav - very very disappointed with the Pulav. They suggested us peas Pulav and we thought it should be pretty good since we were looking for jeera rice. However, when we ate Pulav we could see that either they were in super hurry to serve us or they had something else to focus on.
The rice was not cooked properly and they missed salt too. In addition, we believe that the price didn't justify the quality at all!
Hence, Pulav gets 1 out of 5.
Overall, not to speak like a broken record, pls order from here if your spice tolerance is very less. We will try another time but not sure when and we will ensure to inform that we would like spicy food.
The good is definitely overpriced too since the quality and quantity does not justify the price.
Therefore, they...
Read moreDinner with friends. When I leave a not-positive review, I try to be fair. I will start with what was good-great. Appetizers: Medhu Vadai (said 6 pieces, received 5), veg pakora, veg samosa were all really good with nice sauces. Our friends' dishes were good (Chicken Tikka Masala, not sure of the other one). My wife ordered a Crab dish, not certain it was Chettinad Crab Curry (looks right), but instead of crab meat it came with the whole crab in the sauce. She had no idea how to dismantle the crab to eat the tasty bits, especially when it was covered in sauce. Staff offered a tool for cracking, but the whole thing was a turn-off. To be fair, staff also offered to replace the meal, but my wife felt it was her fault for not clarifying what form the crab would be. I disagree, and I'm writing the review, so I think that she should have had it replaced. In any case, it didn't come off the bill, so it was wasted money.
I ordered Chettinad Rabbit Chukka Masala. The rabbit was very tasty, but it seemed like it had been cooked whole and then chopped up. Knife and fork surgery, lots of bones, especially little ones that I had to spit out after chewing very carefully. I was enjoying the taste, though not the journey. Fortunate for me that I was chewing slowly because I pulled a thin strand of metal, about 3-4cm long, out of my mouth. I showed it to the server, got a "sorry", but nothing more.
Service was dodgy. We all started with water, then asked for ice to put in the water. Each time we got one small glass with ice cubes (for four people). After several rounds of that, we asked for ice water, which was a large glass with a few ice cubes. I had to ask several times before getting mine. We are talking Indian food here: it's spicy, cold water is needed. When ordering, the server started reviewing our order before he had taken mine.
So, all-in-all, a middling experience. Some good points, but we won't...
