I’ve taken quite a few days because I wanted some perspective before I wrote this review.
11 days ago I was at this restaurant for a dinner break during a family road trip. We chose this location because it has a patio, was close to our hotel and we generally had excellent experiences at this restaurant chain.
As we parked we could see that the patio had four empty tables. So while I wrangled the family out of the car my wife went in to get us seating. She is fluently bilingual and kindly went up to the front reception and asked to be seated outside for a family of four. In French.
In response she was flatly told there was no room. She was not offered seating in the general restaurant nor the bar area -both of which were below half capacity- The entire exchange took place in French. She came back to the car somewhat stunned and was looking at the open seating directly in front of us. I then proceeded to go in. Another family of four went in right in front of me. They were seated in the patio as was I. Right away without a problem.
I purposely had my conversations in English.
When I got our table my wife and family joined me on the patio.
We waited for over 10 minutes to even get menus. Now in fairness the family in front of us was also without service.
But by that point we were fed up and decided to take our business elsewhere.
Why did this happen? My wife is east Indian born and raised in Canada. I am a white male French Canadian by birth. Most importantly we are all paying Canadian customers.
My conclusions are that at best some of the staff are stunningly incompetent. At worst they harbour and exhibit overtly racist behaviour.
I will leave it up to the management to decide which is which.
I will conclude by saying that two days later we had an excellent dinner at the BP in Charlottetown. Our waitress got a very nice tip for her...
Read morePLEASE DON'T CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY HERE! We made a reservation 1 week in advance for my birthday at 7:30pm for a group of people. The beginning was great, staff was kind, we made our orders around 7:50pm. That's were things went wrong very fast.
1)The drinks/beer took more than 45 minutes to arrive. We were patient, but pouring beer should never take this long. 2) Appetizers were brought cold, 1 hour late (nachos had cold cheese on top and the calamari tasted awful). 3)the main dishes were brought out very late around around 9:15. Only after we asked where our food was. We were patient again because we thought they wanted to serve the big group at the same time, but NOOOO they brought the food at 10 minutes intervals with much confusion to our table. So everyone started eating at random intervals 4) Nobody ever checked in to see if we needed to refill our water. 5)They mixed up 2 of the orders by bringing the wrong dish and the ribs had the wrong sauce.
I am very disappointed in Boston Pizza. I tried to enjoy the experience but the service quality of the restaurant made...
Read moreVery disappointed will never be back. Long wait for order. Example 3 different couples came in 1/2 hour after our party of 4 ordered. All there meals arrived well before ours did by 10 min. I ordered after inquiring the way the chicken wings where done , by pound or count as it was not listed . Waitress told me they came in 8-16 and 32 . So i ordered 16 hot wings . I recieved 14 small unsauced unseasoned wings with 2 small dip bowls with franks red hot. It came with 2 small pieces of celery and only 1 plate so nowhere to put bones and 1 napkin . Yes i could have complained . But how long would it have taken to get 2 wings and a bone plate . Not worth my breath to waste i figured . I only wish i could go back and start my entrance there without a nice hello and friendly chat from my group to both the hostess and the waitress . Wish we had been jerks. Only then i would be convinced we deserved that kind of treatment . Oh and yes we tipped the waitress well believe it or not because we triied to kill her...
