"I'm hungry" she said as she continued piloting the car north on Highway 20. "Maybe see if you can find something in Quebec (city) that's a nice place..." Already I was imagining time wasted in traffic, searching for either non-existent or expensive parking that may not be conveniently close to where we want to eat. Then, afterwards, fight through traffic and odd turns and a bridge to get back on the same highway running along the south shore of the river, and back into the rhythm of our journey. Not interested in that at all. Pulling up google maps, I immediately look at restaurants near us and find this nicely-rated joint. The photos of the food and the environment tell me what I need to know, and I immediately give her directions to take the next exit. Then 2 lefts and a right later... pull into a parking spot within tripping distance of the front door. Awkwardly navigating the french menu, she ordered the first item on the menu (large breakfast plate), while I had the carnivore eggs benedict I saw a photo of in these same reviews.
It was perfect;
Fresh, delicious, with spots of culinary creativity to add to the flavour without being a deep-fried sugar/salt mess usually found in corporate-chain, "family friendly" restaurants living like cliches in these strip malls. Sated, and with little adjustment to the scheduled arrival time at our destination, we left happy.... except now I...
Read moreSince i moved to Halifax, 3 years aho, i have been searching for an authentic italian pizza. My husband heard about this restaurant & took us on our date night. The place was busy & we luckily got a spot on the bar, just infront of the clay oven. I saw the making of each of the orders. We were in awe.... simple, yet delicious, packed with flavors & just the finest thin crust pizza ypu can have. Felt like, i was in Italy. Tge dough is 72 hours fermented, finer & simple ingredients. Loved every bite. I hope the standard remains like this. I see, a few people aren't happy, so a Disclaimer: this is NOT your USUAL oily, Cheap cheese Heavy, loaded...
Read moreWe ordered four pizzas 🍕 for takeout from this chain of restaurants, The Pizzas were very expensive for the size we got and the minimal quantity of ingredients on them for the price was ridiculous. The pizzas were still very good to the taste. The ingredients used were of top quality but the quantity used was not enough. Based on many of my travels to Italy, the crust tasted very much Italian. From eating pizzas everywhere around the world, they make good pizzas but are overpriced. I recommend it if you have a...
