This is the greatest restaurant I have ever been to. They have some of the best pork buns and bubble tea that I have ever tasted. The atmosphere is great, and the service is impeccable. It is family-owned, which is a big plus, and the location is really nice, they are just the perfect distance away from downtown that they are convenient to get to and also away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. They should be a 3 Michelin star restaurant, but they can't be since they aren't technically "fine dining," but if they were, they should be on the Michelin guide. The people working there are extremely kind and friendly. I only have one complaint; the hours. They aren't that bad, but they could definitely improve. My overall verdict is: the single best restaurant I have...

What a little gem! Ladysmith is lucky to have Jas Cafe. Food was fantastic for a little cafe off the beaten track. The crispy noodle and duck and fried chicken were 100%, absolutely recommended. Dim Sum is not quite Vancouver/HK level obviously, but definitely worth ordering. Service was a little slow, but understandable since there's only the owners working serving all 12 of us! Coming from a family who used to do the same thing, we appreciate the owners efforts and love they pour into their cafe. Keep up the good work Jas Cafe. Can't wait to pop in on our way up and down the island. You are definitely an asset to your...

Went for the dim sum, walked in and grabbed a slip of paper as instructed. Sat down and proceeded to wait for 15 minutes with no one offering a water, or even acknowledging us, and not a dim sum cart to be seen. It's not like they didn't see us sitting there, we were right in front of the counter and the only ones there. People continued to walk in and order coffee... Finally we just walked out as we still saw no signs of getting any service whatsoever. Horrendous service. They need to decide whether they are a coffee shop or serious about doing the dim sum thing and actually serve it. Likely...

We tried Jas Cafe as a recommendation from a friend who had been here before. They did not disappoint! The XLB soup dumplings were perfectly steamed. The soup was so delicious as was the filling. The Tonkotsu ramen was rich, silky & flavourful. The noodles were perfect cooked with a nice chew. The char siu was tender and practically melted in my mouth. The marinated ramen egg was good. We will be back! Can't wait to try the other items on the menu!

Had 2 different bubble teas and they were both delicious. Also had the pulled pork sandwich and they did a great job, very tasty. Update: They are always exploring new ideas. I ordered a lychee bubble tea with coconut jellies. It was not on the menu yet and worth asking about new things they are trying out. Also their dim sum is delicious and worth getting. Made fresh.

Amazing little cafe!! I got the breakfast sandwich and the bun was deliciously fluffy (the picture doesn’t do it justice!). The opera cakes were amazing as well, there were two flavours, berry vanilla and bailey’s. Beautiful and delicious! I found the cakes best when I let them come to room temp. I would definitely come again! Excited to try their bubble tea.
