This was our first time here. Their receptionist was friendly and prompt. Other waitresses checked on us as we waited for our seats. They were friendly too. We were seated shortly after we arrived. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and helpful. After I told him that my glass for my old fashioned was dirty, he agreed, apologized, and rectified it. I’m unsure about whether he compensated us for that, since someone else paid for it and I was busy with my kids. Whatever the case, his response redeems the restaurant somewhat. Also, If I ate here again, I would check my glass to see whether it’s clean. The food was delicious. Our 2 kids loved their food, my wife loved hers, and her parents and brother loved theirs. I noticed that our waiter used a visibly dirty broom to remove debris from a table and chair near us. That was worrisome. I was waiting to see whether he would sanitize it, but he became busy with other stuff and we left before I could confirm anything. Whatever happened later, though, that was a gross way to clean those things, since there are cleaner ways to remove debris from them. If I ate here again, I would ask our server to wipe our table before we sit. Their atmosphere was decent to me. It was nice to eat by the water and see some antiques. Overall, I give them about 3.5 stars. I’d return to this place with some caution, realizing that my subsequent visit may be the same, better, or worse. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying this place yet either. It’s unfair to solidify an opinion about people and places based on an isolated experience. I hope this review helps other patrons, their staff,...
Read moreKept looking for someone to seat us, no-one in sight for several minutes. Was the sign wrong? Should we seat ourselves? Saw a couple of women who looked like maybe they were waitresses...still no attention, just averted their gazes. Finally moved far enough into the pub, past the "Wait to be seated" sign, that the bartender finally looked our way. He seated us, easy enough, the place was less than half full. Then some kind of kerfuffle with a patron that took the attention of the bartender & the two waitresses. Another crazy amount of time before someone noticed we were likely wanting something to eat & drink. Took our order, I asked what was on tap, we had looked for some kind of board with choices, had seen a sign that said MAIN in fairly large letters, assumed it was main menu & glanced away. When asked if I was able to read it, yes, yes I can. Suggestion: maybe write "Beer on tap" rather than "Main" which usually headlines the menu. So we waited for our drinks. Clearly, & audibly, the staff were not finished discussing the issue with the upset patron. Eventually we got our drinks. Waited quite a while for our food, & yes, I worked as a waitress so I know how long it takes to prep what we ordered. So when we finally got someone's attention & asked if she could check on our order...Behold! Our food appeared. I've been here several times in the past, not for several years, and the food was always good & same with the service. The service today was definitely not worthy a tip & the food was just ok. There are many other places to go in Lake Country but we...
Read more5:30 on Thursday evening. Pub was not overly busy. There were at least 6 servers on shift. We got seated right away, and then had to wait 20 minutes before anyone further acknowledged us. My wife saw one of the servers pointing to our table while talking to another server who just rolled her eyes at likely being asked to help us. The pointer then came over to our table, explained that she only served drinks but would take our food order. The eye roller continued to strut around the pub in her cowboy boots, doing in place happy dances when she went to new tables. I guess that's her way of encouraging tips for lousy service. I finally got my butter chicken order, which consisted of about 1/2 cup of rice, the sauce, and a whole, small piece of chicken breast. Oh, it also came with a soup spoon. The server then asked if I ALSO wanted a knife and fork. I guess most people try to break apart a chicken breast with only a spoon? The sauce was almost indigestible it was so overly done with cayenne. We then waited another 20 min just have our table cleared & asked for the bill. Another 1/2 hour goes by, and I finally catch the eye of our server. She comes over to the table and asks.. "are you still waiting for your food?" OMG this is the same person that brought us our food. Another 20 min before she comes back with the debit machine. I don't know if everyone working there is on something, but I've never had poorer...
