Response to owner: What an unfortunate choice of words to include in your response: "I'm glad to see that you have had enjoyable experiences in the past, Im sorry I must have missed your review on the positive experiences or I would have replied there too."
To be clear, I write reviews for Great (4 and 5 star) experiences, and for really bad (1 and 2) experiences. While we have had some good experiences at Woody's (3 ish stars in my book), they were not great. So no, you didn't miss my previous reviews. And what an unprofessional thing to say...
As for speaking with the manager... We were celebrating someone else's birthday and in the interest of not making things uncomfortable for anyone, we opted to just finish the meal and move on.
I'll say this, because I do believe in giving credit where it is due... The staff at Woody's is always great. Never had a bad experience there.
Original: Like every restaurant these days, it seems like they are cutting corners. Had the summer harvest salad. If there was a teaspoon of feta in it I’d be shocked. Dressing was so tart you could barely eat it. Had the meal size and there wasn’t even a cup of lettuce in total. Thought it was the smaller size when it arrived.
Husband had beef dip with mushroom soup. Soup was more like porridge and sandwich had nothing on it. Plain and flavourless. I’ve had better here in the past so hoping they can get...
Read moreHoly smokes, I think I had one of the best crispy chicken burgers I’ve had in quite some time. What’s more, they make a split pea soup, seemingly daily here, and they have nailed the recipe. To be to be more specific, this place makes excellent split pea soup. Combine that with a tasty burger with a crazy looking bun, and you are good to go. All this at a price tag of 18 bucks, this pub is hard to beat. Located in the heart of Lake country, just off Highway 97. Server I had today was Katie. She explained that the bun was a charcoal, blackened bun… Sounded offputting at first, but she explained that it’s really good. Take my word for it, it works, and it is a heck of a good lunch. What’s more, she’s a terrific server with a friendly smile and knowledgeable about the food and beverages.
If you are visiting the Okanagan, and enjoy a good classic, blue-collar pub, step into this place, and tip a...
Read moreUpdate September 2024 Went for breakfast for the first time and the service was quick and very delicious and good portions. Great prices.
We specifically came in today for the first time to finally try the Thursday night steak special for $12.50. we drive by the billboard all the time. We got there close to 6:00 couldn't make a reservation but was able to get a table for three no problem. The place was quite busy. My husband ordered the 6 oz steak with smashed potatoes and corn and kale and it was pretty good considering the price. I had the kung pao chicken bowl with rice and it was quite flavorful. My son had the crispy chicken burger with the black bun burger cooked in charcoal but tastes like regular white bread with coleslaw. He really enjoyed it. Our waitress Yari was super friendly and had a smile that lit up the room 😁. We will be back!
