Although our server was very polite, we did not have the best experience. We were seated next to the bathroom and waited forever to order. When we looked around there were other booths and tables they could have seated us at. When water was brought to our table we were given mini glasses, while the other couple near was given a pitcher of water. Everyone else around us was offered beer samples from a staff, however we were not offered anything. This staff passed by us multiple times to make sure all the other tables were given a sample, but we still were not given any kind of attention. I’ll also mention that it was obvious we were the only visible minorities in the restaurant at the time. During our whole trip this was only only restaurant where we felt somewhat neglected.
In terms of the food, it was okay. Servings were pretty standard. Not the best or authentic Mexican food, it honestly could have used some more flavour. The mojito my partner had ordered was the only item that was enjoyable. The place is also well decorated. They have live music as well. But the experience we had overshadows everything else. I’ll give this place a 1.5/ 5 stars for the polite server and the...
Read moreOur new favourite place in Grand Bend! The food is really tasty and perfect for a summer dinner. They have a few vegan and gluten free options which is amazing, and the servers are always helpful and knowledgeable about the options, which is appreciated! A special shout out to Laura, who is just the loveliest person and actually remembered our orders when we had her as a server a second time. The patio is a really nice vibe on a summer evening. They've created such a nice ambiance with the lights and decor, and it feels very cozy and relaxed. It's lighthearted and casual, but a nice alternative to some of the more boisterous places closer to the beach! Also, if you don't drink alcohol, they have the option to make most (all?) of their drinks mocktails, and they're delicious! Lastly, the owners are so sweet-- we've really enjoyed getting the chance to chat with them here and there when we stop in on a quieter night. We're so glad they decided to open this place, and we'll be frequent visitors every summer! See you...
Read moreThis place is adorable and I love the outdoor patio. It's a great place to go for drinks with the girls. That's all I really have to say that's good.
The $11.50 margaritas was okay... the nachos were horrible. I spent extra for chicken to be on it and you couldn't even tell it had chicken. You got two scoops of refried beans which were good, then some jalapeños and tomato on top as well as melted cheese. They were pretty plain and not something I'd get again. The fresh salsa was tasty.
We saw others get tacos and they didn't look good either. The food was expensive for what it was. But honestly, it's what I expected for Grand Bend, your going to pay in the tourist town.
My other issue was with the waitress. It wasn't busy, we we one of two tables and she was miserable and clearly didn't know how to deal with babies or kids. She placed all the hot food and alcoholic beverages right in front of the grabby toddler.... not a great idea. Luckily we were on top of it.
It's a cute place but...
