Eggsquis — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

We went there a week after covid confinement so that we can encourage our favorite restaurants. We have been to many eggsquis before and it's one of our favorite chain of restaurants. As we stepped in there was this older lady looking like the one in charge and she just ignores us for a minute or so. Then without even greeting us, she asks my wife to follow her and she leads us to a table. We usually prefer a booth so my wife asks if we can have one and the lady sneers at her and reluctantly leads us to a booth. We were turned off and we wanted to leave right then but we hesitated cause we were worried that other places would have a line up. The waitress then comes and again without greeting us, she asks if we are ready to order. long story short, the only person that did greet us was the waiter who brought us the plates. In conclusion, never again will we go back to this restaurant. I don't know if its my skin color that earned us this deceiving experience but who ever invested to open this place should be involving himself more in his business....

I'm sure this is normally a very decent place, but our experience was not so great. It is on the pricy side (average plate above 10$) but in our case the main problem was the service.

Our waitress was not present and had trouble understanding our order (and I speak quite loud). It was so bad that another waitress had to refill our water, pick up our plates and give us our bill (thanks Stephanie!).

My girlfriend's Benedict was overcooked and she found eggshells, a big no-no. But, in their defence, we were there on rush hour on a Saturday.

walked in there at 2:15pm knowing very well that they close at 3pm.... the hostess was windexing the bay windows already getting ready to leave . I was polite enough to still ask the hostess "are you guys open" and instead of saying yes take a seat, she tells me "we close at 3pm" with a sory looking face.... i thought the owner should know because that is bad...
