Grillados Grilled Beef Back Ribs & Chicken — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

There must be a lot of paid reviews or deleted reviews on this restaurant because the service and food here is well below sub-par. Please be careful of this franchise and this location in general.

We came in to this store on a Saturday afternoon, roughly around 5pm EST. The parking lot was full but the restaurant had only one small booth filled with 3 people. When we entered, the gentleman at the counter was busy on his phone and did not acknowledge us.

Once we ordered and put in our order, the problems began. There almost no sauces available throughout the restaurant, except for hot. And the audacity of the staff and management to leave empty bottles in plain sight. Very disappointing when you are expecting some flavourful garlic sauces on the side. See photo attached. Our rice came out cold. Flavourful but cold. The peri-peri fries came out looking like regular fries. When I asked staff to re-season them, they quite literally brought out their seasoning shaker and put seasoning on the fries. My friend... I can do that at home. I'm paying more, so you do it more professionally inside your kitchen. The chicken tasted ok and did not have enough sauce on it. The brochette tasted like chicken protein and nothing else. We were the only group in the restaurant left once the other table left. The other table was left unattended and uncleaned for the majority of our duration there. Please see photo attached.

In general, the staff seemed inattentive, distracted and uninterested. While it's true that this review is staff-focused, I believe it is poor management and lack of care on their part that allows such poor quality of food and service to continue. There does not seem to be any pride in the food being served here nor in the service.

In summary, we regret coming here for food and were fooled by the high rating allocated to this establishment. I do not think Grillado will ever be on our food list again and it's a pity that a halal place is in such a state. Again, in general, to my fellow foodies, do be careful about places that have really high scores like this because likely these were a result of early snowball effects or incentive-based reviews. In general, I am not a person who likes to review good or bad since I am a very busy mother. But this time I had to. My sister had the food two years ago and gave a great review, so we went back together. I was surprised to see the portion they served for each item. I was charged almost $80 for only two food items on the menu. It would be worth paying more even if the food served was tasty. However, not only the portion was less, the taste was horrible. The ribs had no spice at all except the BBQ sauce. The chicken ordered was super dry and painful to chew as there was no taste. The potato wedges provided were not cooked well, so they were hard. The so-called “side-stirred vegetables” had nothing in it except green peppers. Even the garlic bread they provided was so little.Not only that, the service provided was horrible. Three people were working at that time, and only the woman was behaving nicely. The other men kept staring at us and our children right from the time we parked our car at the parking lot. They mopped the entire floor and put no caution. Kids kept falling again and again since the floor was so slippery.Not to forget the toilets were horrible. Very dirty and again very slippery. My kids fell in the toilet, and also I was about to. I am surprised at how bad a business can be.Overall, it is the worst experience I ever had in Quebec since my 13 years of life there.There might be places where I dined in and it was dirty; however, the food, the portions, the atmosphere, or at least the service provided by the workers compensated for it. This review is a long time coming. I have been visiting this restaurant since they opened back in 2019. If I could give this establishment a higher score than 10/10 it would definitely deserve it. I'm always amazed on how the service has been consistent every single time I've visited them.

What really impresses me is their focus on customer service. Simply the way I've been greeted by the staff since day 1 has been amazing. They really treat me like I'm family. Everyone is extremely kind and respectful. You know you are dealing with really nice people who don't take your business for granted and truly have your satisfaction at heart. It's really a rare quality to have and somewhat of an lost art but this restaurants customer service is absolutely outstanding.

Combine the great service with mouthwatering food and you have one of the best restaurant in Laval. If you like spicy give their Piri Piri poutine a shot, you will not regret it. It is hands down my favorite poutine. The portion is generous at a very good price. The whole menu is succulent but the poutine is by far my favorite dish. It is so heavenly that sometimes I spend days looking forward to going there.
