La Perle Vietnamienne — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

The only reason this place even gets stars is cause their food was good tasting. Otherwise, everything else was bad; I brought my mother to this restaurant last night as a very late mothers day evening as we have conflicting schedules and the man who served us was grumpy. If we asked for chopsticks he would be mad that we bothered him, if we asked for more water because he didn’t fill ours up he would roll his eyes before going to do it. When we ordered a large soup to share he was like “really? To share?” As if the soup wasn’t too big for us to be hung with.

On top of that, although the food was good, it was brought out cold. Everything was cold, from the soup itself, to the peanut butter dumplings, the general Tao, everything.

It had been a while since our last visit and the food was as good as I remember. We shared some peanutbutter dumplings with fried spinach and some sushi appetizers. I had the beef, chicken and shrimp vegetable platter with crispy noodles. Delicious. My son had the general Thai plate, just the right amount of spicy. All four of us enjoyed our meals and even though we felt like we couldn't eat anymore we had no choice but to order and share some fried bananas. If you have never tried this I recommend that you get some soon. Bananas covered with a light batter, deep fried and then smothered in honey. I highly recommend this place. Terrible. This was the most bland, cheap and terribly tasting "vietnamese" food. The Wong Tong was so bland it tasted basically like lightly salted water. The peanut butter chicken was 40% mushrooms 40% onions 20% dry chicken. First of all I have never seen mushrooms in peanut butter chicken except in the cheapest places where they try to fill your plate with cheap stuff. The fried crunchy spinach is stuffed in the same bowl as the chicken and becomes mush. This is not fried crunchy spinach this is a can of spinach that's been dumped in my chicken. I will never go...
