I can give 1 star for how nice the place was decorated as it is the only thing we got from the whole experience. My wife and I went to this restaurant on a Saturday night, in the weekend they have advertised to sell their burgers for 4.99 $ + tax each and we thought it would be a great idea to try their twist on burgers before having other things on the menu from them. Instead of trying food we've got one of the worst and usatisfying experiences while trying new restaurants. Here it goes: I know it is normal for the wait to be longer since they have advertised their burges 4.99 $, and that people would order a lot of them. It would have been a good idea to limit the number of burgers that could be ordered by one person, but that is a bit too late now. When we got to order, the person who took our order told us it is better to only choose from the burgers on the menu, as there are a lot of orders and it would be difficult to have something else in a normal time. We ordered ONE Tandoori burger and ONE Chapli Kabab. Burger. There was no mention of the wait time, or the fact that there might take a bit longer for those two burgers to be served. We then sat down not very far from the counter, because those were the only seats that were free and I could see that the new customers coming in could only choose from the Crispy Chicken and the Smash Burger, the other burgers took too long to be made. Still, we have ordered something else and no one said anything to us about it. 15 minutes after we ordered one couple came in and were told the same as above about what to order. But, after a small discussion with the one who seemed to be owner and took our order, the man at the cash told this couple they cand order what they want. Another 5 minutes pass and another couple comes in, orders and then go outside because there was no place to sit down and wait. Then a mother with three children come in, order and then come sit at the table next to us. 35 minutes of wait for us, one of the children is sent by the mother to ask about their order, only to hear someone from the kitchen that ''We have a lot of orders before you, we are close to 100 burgers to be made''. 10 minutes later, the table with the three kids and the mom gets their order and start eating (they have ordered close to 20 minutes after us, Not long after, the secound couple that went outside after ordering, came in and received their order and left with it. The moment I got fed up is when the couple with preferrential treatment (ordering something different than everyone) received their order and started eating. It was at that moment that I went to the man who took our order and asked for my money back, as to me this was an unacceptable way to treat their clients, who patiently waited for their food for all this time, 50 minutes. The same lady that shouted came out from the kitchen to ask me what my order was beacause '' I just wanna know'' and then told me there would be a burger she could give right away.... it was a little too late. To sum it up, after getting hungry for almost an hour of wait and seeing people that came after us getting their food before us, we decided to leave that place in order to eat something for supper, because it seemed like it was never going to happen at the Mazedaar's. If you see this review on November 10th or before that, I would advise you to avoid this place at all costs, as they are only making burgers for the day and also the wait is humongous before you get to eat. It might be different on other days, but after the treatment we have received, we will never know and they have lost us as customers forever. It's unimaginable for me to think that if they treat their customers with such disrespect on days they actually count on to grow their client base, it would be different on other days, but...
Read moreAfter hearing about Mazedaars opening in Laval, me and my wife had a huge craving for this new pakistani/indian street food. Today 07Dec2023, we finally decided to try it and when we arrived it was almost empty and there was only 1 cook taking care of everything. Let me break down why I gave overall 1 star:
it took almost 45min to get our order which was composed of 2 crispy chicken burgers, 1 smashed beef burger and 1 smashed mix burger, and 1 paratha piri-piri chicken, with one fries and 1 butter chicken poutine. It took so long that 5 customers left to the fast food next to Mazedaars.
food was not very hot so when we got home like 5min after, it was kind of warm
quantities were not impressive considering the wait.
the crispy chicken was very salty and it was like big bun and a small piece of fried chicken.
burgers had too many blend of spices and the mix was not extraordinary - nothing special to be honest. It was very hard to distinguish the different elements of the burger.
the poutine was very small for the price and the quantity of cheese was close to nothing. It was like eating sauce with fries. The spice mix was so strong that i didn't recognize the regular butter chicken.
the paratha was not fresh and it was cold and chewy and it was so thin and light that I was a bit shocked.
Overall price was around 80$ so I found that it was very expensive for the quality and quantity we got. Please check my pictures, you will understand what I mean.
Based on that, I don't recommend. You may be disappointed and hopefully I will...
Read morePani puri: The water was very dilute. I mean that’s the main part of Pani puri gotta make that right. Overall was okay. Not the best I’ve had. 2.5/5
Bun Kabab: honestly enjoyed the bun kabab. Flavorful and fulfilling. 4/5
Smashed beef burger: So the beef patty is basically chapli kabab. I think they should have mentioned that, I ordered it expecting it’s a smashed burger. Was okay. 2.5/5
Peri-Peri Pratha wrap: Tasty. Had a very homemade feeling. I liked that they made pratha from scratch and didn’t use frozen packaged ones. Was fulfilling as well. 3/5
Halwa poori: was really looking forward to this because there aren’t any Pakistani halwa poori places in Montreal area. And I’m not a fan of Indian style. However was not satisfied. The poori was frozen packaged one and pretty oily. Halwa I think was also frozen one didn’t have much flavor to it. The only thing I really liked were the chanay. They were tasty and perfect amount of spice. 2/5
Aloo pratha: could use some improvement, only salt and black pepper in the filling. Was bland to my taste. 2/5
Service: The staff is very kind and sweet. On our first visit they gave us complimentary sweet; Ras malai. Really appreciated...
