People with allergies BE AWARE!!!! My daughter was having supper last night with friends and told the first waiter about her peanut allergy as she always does. There was a server change and the second server mentioned that it was written next to her order that she had this allergy and confirmed it with her and everyone at the table heard him. So he knew. then after her main course my daughter trusting the server , she orders a brownie . She took a bite and immediately started an allergic reaction!Realizing this , she took a Benadryl and asked the server if there were peanuts in the brownie, his face went white and said “you’re the one with the allergy !? “and confirmed that yes there were peanuts in the sauce. My daughter told her friends she needs to go to the hospital where she was taken care of thank god. While she was gone the friends were given a 50$ gift card to give to my daughter in compensation. I talked to the manager/director of Shaker Centropolis today to make sure this doesn’t happen to someone else as it could be very serious . All he had to say was the second server told him he didn’t know and that it was up to my daughter to be more vigilant and she was given a 50$ gift card for her trouble!!! Not what i wanted to hear. I had to insist that he makes sure that all servers need to be aware of the seriousness of allergies and that they should automatically bring the allergen menu before taking an order, as there is no mention of peanuts in the regular menu. The director said they don’t do that because they only have 2 allergen menu. Bravo. I asked that potential deadly allergen be written in the regular menu and his answer was it would be impossible to change all the menus in all the Shaker restaurants!!! So instead of reassuring me that he is really sorry this happened and he will make sure to have a serious talk with his servers and let the owners know about what could be done to prevent this happening again, he repeated many times the error was the second server did not know as if that’s actually what happened and end if story!! Will be telling many people this to make sure to avoid this restaurant as they do not have the safety of their...

I witnessed a situation yesterday from the staff on Thursday December 7, 2023. This situation demonstrates the lack of skills of their security guy. I came with two other friends, there was a couple sitting next to us at the bar near the stairs. The security guys came and told them to quiet down, because they wanted to remove the chairs for the evening. The man in question refused, explaining that his wife had a hip problem and that it would be better if she could remain seated. There was some argument between the security guys defending their point and the man defending his wife from being hurt. Once he saw that the security guys were not going to change their point, the husband told his wife to put on her coat and they were leaving. He was about to take his personal belongings as well as his glasses when Suddenly, for no reason at all, one of the security guys grabbed the man by the throat and literally threw him to the ground and there were 4 security guys on the husband and they were all kicking him. At no time did I witness any sign of aggression from the husband and wife. The man automatically curled into a ball during all the kicks. It was at this moment that his wife began to push them so that they let go of their husband and at another moment, once they were heading towards the exit a security guy violently pushed the woman injuring her. hip. I know that there was a fight between the two doors, but I know full well that the woman was defending her husband who was the victim of injustice, so I know full well that nothing justifies the security man being pushed as strong the woman.

The end of this story is that the man called the police and they talked outside without any follow-up to the irresponsible and disrespectful security guys. I often go out to bars and nightclubs and it infuriates me to see the security guys taking a “powertrip” on the customers. I do not recommend this place for the lack of security you will have there. Management should not tolerate and/or turn a blind eye to such violence and abuse of power that my friends and I witnessed yesterday. This is...

Went here for a friend's birthday dinner. Food was very good. We had the baked brie, wonton dumplings and I ordered the flank steak. All were delicious. And their cocktails were tasty as well (try the Tequila limon one). My steak was more medium than medium rare, but it was very tender and I like that I could get fries and a Caesar salad as included sides. Fries were addictive.

Having said that, I felt like I was 10 years too old for this place (I'm 36 for the record). It definitely has more of a party vibe, and there were several tables of 'woo girls' celebrating various birthdays or events. Anytime a table ordered a bottle or a round of shots it came out with sparklers and a confetti cannon. Fun? Sure. Disruptive? Very.

Service was also slow and our waitress was a bit scattered, but the place was crowded so that's understandable. What I wish I had known before was that this place turns into more of a club later in the night. They were rushing to clear our glasses so they could move the table to make space for a dance floor-type space. It pains me to say it, but I'm too old for that nonsense. I want to sit comfortably at a table and have music playing at a reasonable level that will still allow you to communicate with the entire table.

Seating was absolutely terrible. We were a group of 11, and the sat us at a table where all the chairs were touching and if you wanted to get up and go to the bathroom, everyone on that side of the table had to get up, as there wasn't that much space between us and the next table. And none of the tables were the same height, so people who were seated between tables had to lean to one side, or deal with a lopsided plate all night.

All in all, food was good, and I would go back, just maybe not on a Saturday night. I would still give 4 stars based on how tasty the food was. Make a reservation if you want to go, because there was a line up to get in as we...

I dropped by SHAKER Laval and ordered The Boss Burger with a side of salad and sweet potato fries, plus two Peach Love cocktails—and let me say, it was a hit from start to finish. The Boss Burger was absolutely stacked! Two thick, juicy patties cooked just right, layered with cheddar, Swiss cheese, bacon, pickles, and crisp romaine lettuce—all in a soft, toasted bun. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the burger held up surprisingly well despite its towering build. It definitely lives up to its name. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right touch of seasoning—no need for extra sauce. The side cesar salad was fresh and vibrant, a nice light balance to the richness of the burger. The Peach Love cocktails were a great surprise—fruity, refreshing, and beautifully served in mason jars. The peach flavor was smooth and not overly sweet, making it easy to sip and enjoy without it overpowering the meal. Atmosphere: SHAKER Laval had a lively, upbeat vibe with great energy. The place was busy but not overwhelming, with a modern decor and a cool, youthful crowd. Music added to the fun without making it hard to talk. Service: Friendly and quick, even with a packed house. The food came out hot and fresh, and drinks were served promptly with a smile. Overall, SHAKER Laval delivered a great dining experience. Bold flavors, creative drinks, and a fun atmosphere—I’ll definitely be coming back. Rating: 5/5

Despite being a popular chain, Shaker is like a shiny object from the outside, but what counts is the inside. First, there is a long line to get in. This usually shows popularity, however with multiple empty spots indoors kind of makes you think if they are truly reserved. Once in, you will be greeted with a nice ambient decor, nice music, a live dj, and many huge screen tvs. We were at the bar and quickly were handed to help place our orders. We each started with a shaker. Despite the name of the place matching this category of mixology, surprising the drinks were water down and not that ... Good. As we are Cesar enthusiast, we could definitely rate this low on our list. We next ordered food, again nothing too out of the ordinary. The place has a lot of comfort foods to select from and also a variety of seafood. Lastly, we ordered a 2nd round of drinks that were from the cocktail list and this time we could finally agree that it was to our liking . The service is so so, let's just say if you do not ask for napkins you may need to wipe your mouth on your shirt. And for a mixology place, the drinks were not on par with the name. Food & Drinks - ⭐⭐⭐ (only for the last drink that balanced at 3 overall Price - $$ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (don't expect to be full) Service - ⭐⭐⭐ Ambiance - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Location - ⭐⭐⭐ (despite being in laval, no parking on weekends)

Lets start with the service. Our waiter was Andrew, amazing service, 5 stars for that. I took the onion soup, was ok, but too salty for my taste. Cheese on it looked like one of those single kraft process cheese slice. We also had Toa chicken wings, those were good. We got a chicken burger, desapointing, chicken was overcooked and dry. Mcdo chicken burger taste better. Also frech fries cost pennies, the portion was ridiculous. Took the salmon, that was a disaster. I asked medium-raw and got well done. Asked them to redo it and the second serving was almost raw. We took the pouding chomeur, saying it was ok its me being generous. It had potential, but in the name of saving money I suppose, the middle was dry, not enough of the sauce while cooking it, as a result the outside was moist and delicious, but the middle was dry. I am rating it 3 stars and not less because I am trying to keep an open mind and reminding myself that it is a resto-bar and not a "real" restaurant per say. Last point, toilet werent that clean. Might sound pointless to some, but if they cant keep their toilet clean, imagine how the kitchen must look like. I removed a star because they contacted me trying to make up for our bad experience. Then they never followed up on their offer after we answered back
