To preface this review, I really like Shawarmaz. The Saj Shish Taouk is one of my favorite meals of all time. Also, I wasn’t there for the purchase; I got it delivered. Unfortunately, this bowl just wasn’t it. Every component was individually disappointing, except the rice, but I mean, it’s rice. The bowl had a generous amount of meat, which is nice, but it was dry. The chicken lacked both flavor and juiciness, and the beef was only moist because of the tahini sauce. Sadly, the sauce was too bitter and needed more lemon and water. Underneath the meat, the bowl had three components: salad, garlic potatoes, and rice. The garlic potatoes were the biggest letdown for me. Personally, I think they’re supposed to be the best item in a bowl like this, but these were just bland. They reminded me of IKEA potatoes, no garlic on them, and the garlic sauce was mid at best. It tasted like the basic Adonis garlic sauce. Nothing special. The salad part completely confused me. Why would you put a cold salad underneath hot meat? Boustan and other chains usually have a specific warm bowl-style salad. Here, it was just a regular salad (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and peppers with some dressing), which you'd normally eat cold on the side. But now it was warm and under-dressed. Weird choice. Also, there were no pickled turnips (the pink stuff) or any pickles at all, which are kind of standard in this type of bowl. As for the rice, again, it’s just rice. If they had messed that up, it would’ve been tragic. Anyway, not a terrible bowl, but definitely disappointing, especially when expectations are high. I’d honestly prefer a bowl from any other Middle Eastern chain over this. The garlic potatoes were :( . I know Québécois spots that do them better, like @Bistro Le Pickup. I’ve got a review with pics if you want to see.

I’ve been a loyal Shawarmaz customer for a long time. I visit the downtown or West Island locations once or twice a week, and if I don’t go in person, I often order online. The food is consistently good, which is why I’ve always been such a fan. However, after my recent experience at the Laval location, I’ve decided not to return there again. While the food itself was tasty, the service was disappointing. The staff wrapped my order incorrectly, mixing up the chicken and beef shawarmas. When I brought it to their attention, I was told, “Once you open it, you’ll see which one is which.” This response felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially since the mistake was theirs. As a loyal customer, I expected better attention to detail and better service when addressing the issue. What made it even more disappointing was that this was the first time I brought my mom here to try the bomb I always rave about. I was embarrassed by what happened, as I had high expectations based on my past experiences. Additionally, when the employee asked me what type of sauce I wanted before wrapping my sandwich, I asked for pomegranate molasses and extra garlic sauce. He gave me a side look trying to say that there’s already garlic sauce inside and no need to put it again. 😅😅 I’ll continue to enjoy Shawarmaz at their other locations, but for Laval, this was my first and last visit. I hope they can improve their service to match the quality of their food.

Absolutely amazing experience at Shawarmaz Laval! The food here is simply unbeatable. The shawarma bowls are packed with flavor, featuring perfectly marinated meat that’s juicy and tender, complemented by fresh veggies and a creamy garlic sauce that ties it all together. I loved how generous the portions were perfect for satisfying any hunger! The wraps are another highlight: expertly rolled with just the right balance of meat, pickles, and sauce, and served with crispy fries and refreshing tabbouleh. You can taste the authenticity in every bite! The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, and the staff is super friendly and efficient. Whether you’re craving a quick meal or something hearty, Shawarmaz is the place to go. If you’re in Laval and love Middle Eastern flavours, don’t miss this hidden gem! The hanks to Charbel for his amazing hospitality!

First time trying this place out, I normally go to boustan's but I decided to try something new and I heard really good things about it. When we got there at 6:45pm the line was INSANELY long! It was at least a half an hour to 45 mins waiting time. I was hesitant to stay but we we're already there so i patiently waited..hoping it was worth it lol.

When we received our food, we we're starving! Got home, and tried it out. I had the trip wrap chicken shish taouk with potatoes and fattouche salade. The wrap was DELICIOUS!! It was toasted perfectly, I love how they literally put it ALL DRESSED with ALL INGREDIENTS. Not like other places who simply put the 2-3 basic ingredients. The potatoes we're so good and the garlic sauce is top as well! They even put crispy pita chips on the salad which is a bonus.

I am definitely going back there, I think this is my new spot ❤️👍 Hopefully the waiting time next time won't be too long. BUT it's definitely worth the wait , I recommend it. People who complain about the service being slow ....not really ?? I mean they are 5-6 people working at a fast as they can they are very popular and have a lot of customers as I could tell. So if your not patient to wait, then go somewhere else. But service was pretty good,...
