Absolutely outrageous... what the hell is the point of calling in an order and them screwing it up anyways? I ordered the nachos supreme, (no pork, sub beef - +$6) no onions, and the carne asada, double rice no beans, and a shrimp ceviche and 2 pops. The nachos is supposed to have Pico, but since we ordered no onions, they canceled the pico altogether, no sprinkle of tomatoes anywhere to be found. Then the whack load of lettuce to compensate for volume, with a sprinkle of cheese with a sqiurt of sour cream. The carne asada was bloody rubber, almost jerky, and the kicker, they gave me double beans instead of double rice. The ceviche was the only thing made right and was 1 big serving spoon size.
I call back to tell them of there screw up, they said, you can come back in for the rice to make it right, i asked how they would make it right, she said they would give me my rice, i said it better be a big family size since i just paid $88 for the sad meal, $95 after tip, she says no problem, itll be a large rice. I walk in, and im really trying not to lose my temper, then I am handed a small bowl of rice to make up for the mix up, i looked at her and said, are you serious??? She said yes, thats the large, I said that is the large, i could hold it with 3 fingers. I said where is the family size i was promised? She said that is it... i am so disappointed in a supposedly good restaurant, and the rip off to boot... i have no problem paying for food if its good and made right, just give what I asked for, I wasn't being difficult at all, but got nothing but attitude...
Read moreI think I was a little over-hyped for this place. I was told Leamington for whatever reason has amazing tacos compared to Windsor, comparable if not better than Toronto. And maybe it was an off day, what I loved the most was the horchata. I will say that beverage is better than what I have had in Toronto. But the tacos: al pastor, cochinita, and carnitas were not bad. 2/3 were dry, hard to swallow, toppings were kept to a minimum which is how it should be, sauces for the chips were good ways to moisten each bite, my go-to was the chipotle sauce, and the corn tortillas I felt could have had a little more char. I would say better than some joints in Toronto. The cochinita was the best meat of the three I got and the huarache trio my wife got was quite messy and was just okay according to her. I tried it, I agree, maybe if we got it with cochinita it would have been better. There was some kind of mix up with drinks which made the dining experience just ok. I would say there are a ton of items to try here which is like that kid in a candy store feel. But for tacos it was an okay experience. I am trying not to apply Toronto bias, even comparing from Mexico...
Read moreWe've been regulars at Hot Tacos, enjoying their tacos almost every week. The tacos were usually delicious, and we particularly loved the tacos with Shrimp and bacon, which we ordered a couple of weeks ago. The taco was big, tasty, and worth the price of $8/1
However, our experience today was disappointing. We ordered two tacos with croquettes and bacon, some hot sauce, and other tacos. The size was significantly smaller than the previous week, and there wasn't a single piece of bacon. Instead, the tacos were filled with a lot of onions and peppers, with only a few shrimp. This was quite different from the delicious taco we had before.
Additionally, the tacos al pastor, which are typically served with pineapple slices, were missing them this time. To make matters worse, we had asked for spicy salsa but were instead given a tasteless barbecue sauce. We weren’t informed about the lack of the usual ingredients or the change in sauce, which was a letdown.
We hope Hot Tacos addresses these inconsistencies, as the quality and ingredients should...
