Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Lethbridge

What used to be a 5 star review from us has now become 1. We were very loyal customers for quite a while- every pizza night at our house came from Papa John's! However, we will no longer support this business.

I placed an online order and scheduled delivery for 5:30. After two phone calls from management saying their delivery driver had apparently vanished into thin air, they finally showed up with our order at 6:15. Not a deal breaker, things happen.

However, the driver did not have a debit machine. When ordering online it asks you to specify cash or credit/debit, and I had specified credit. No big deal, I had $100 bill on hand that I gave to him. He said he did not have change, but wanted to take the $100 and run to a gas station and come back with my change. I suggested that he go get the change first, and then I would exchange him the $100, but that I was not comfortable letting him leave with $100 for a $40 order.

After much discussion, we called the restaurant and I spoke with a manager, explaining the situation. She asked to speak with the driver, and when he hung up the phone, he picked up the pizza and said he was told to take it back to the store! We were stunned. She could have even taken my credit card over the phone!

20 minutes later the driver showed up... again. And tried to hand off the pizza. It wasn't clear to me whether he still wanted the money, but I told him we weren't interested as I had already started making something else for supper.

Needless to say, we are no longer customers and will have to find another pizza...

Will not go back, this location in my mind is an embarrassment to the franchise. ordered from them a few months back and when I got my bread sticks with bacon there was no bacon on it at all. thought at the time that mistakes happen, but my pizza was also fairly cool. So I called and got the call center who was nice and she had to call the location to inform them and they insisted "there is the appropriate amount of bacon" after much argument about this and the fact that Cheese sticks with bacon does not mean "no bacon" the manager/owner "reluctantly" offered a 10% discount off next item (not order). anyway. Worst pizza place in Lethbridge by far. go grab a frozen pizza from the freezer it will be a more enjoyable experience.

PS. My issue is only with this Papa Johns I have had great service in Calgary and other locations throughout...

Ordered pizza, and the delivery time was 45 mins, we called after an hour to see when it would arrive. The person who answered the phone said our order hadn’t left yet and when I asked why not, she hung up on me. So I called back and she then said it would be 20 mins so I asked to speak to the manager, and explained that the person who answered the phone hung up on me and was giving me different answers. The manager said the food should arrive any min, so a third answer. The drive did arrive 10 mins later ( 1hr and 15min after we ordered) and was very rude. Will never order from there again- horrible...
