THE CHICKEN SANDWICH, worth it? I had to go and try the chicken sandwich that has received so much attention in the USA. I had very high hopes and expectations, considering all the hype the sandwich has received. Unfortunately it didn't live up to it's reputation as the best fast food chicken sandwich. I'm not saying it was bad, it was a really good sandwich, but not good enough to take the title as the best. I felt the chicken was a little under seasoned, the chicken to sauce ratio was off (not enough sauce). The chicken was juicy but was also greasy (I know it is deep fried, but it was greasier than expected). The pickles were very tasty, but there weren't enough of them (only two on my sandwich). Again, it was a really good sandwich, just not a great one. I still gave Popeyes 5 stars as the food was good and the service was fantastic, the girl at the takeout window was very friendly. I will return to try the spicy version.

Update: tried the sandwich again, this time the spicy version. The sandwich was much better this go around. Soft bun, crunchy breading, moist chicken, enough pickles and the spicy sauce was really good. This was the sandwich that deserved all the attention. And staff was very friendly again. They still deserve...

As Popeyes is one of my husbands favourite chicken places, he was so disappointed yesterday. First, they missed half of our order, so I didn’t even get my lunch and had to place a second order…. Second, he ordered the ghost pepper wings, they’re delicious and his favourite. He takes a bite and there’s no spice, they’re not hot. When he goes up and says he thinks he was given wrong wings, he ordered ghost pepper wings— he’s told, they were the ghost pepper wings. Too many people complain they’re too hot so they had to stop making them spicy. Pardon me???? If you don’t want spicy wings, don’t order ghost pepper wings, they have other delicious options that aren’t spicy. Now people who complain they’re too spicy are ruining it for those of us who actually enjoy spicy wings. He was so disappointed he asked for a refund, which they did without issues and we appreciate that. But come on people…. Don’t order hot wings then complain they’re too hot. Honestly, the food is good, depending on what you order. We've ordered from here a few times for our Saturday lunch, at work. Today, my coworker ordered through Skip; I guess he didn't select delivery so our food sat at the restaurant for over 2 hours. Albeit, not completely the restaurant to blame, but they didn't bother contacting him to see what was going on. Just thought that was really strange. I've worked in the food industry before and, if you have the customer's contact information, which I know they do, you'd be calling to see if they're still planning on picking it up. 2 hours is too long. It seems, over the last few experiences I've been involved in, they've been extremely unorganized. They've messed up orders, in the past, and the prices don't reflect the quality/service that you should expect.
