Edited Sept 25 I have to say the keg stepped it up, there was a party of 13 out celebrating a birthday and the service and food was amazing. I like the fact that they didn't automatically add an 18% tip. The decision was left to the guest in tipping. Blaze and Marissa were amazing and between the 2 of them they would pop by the table to check on us. The choices ordered for appies French onion soup, escargo, Neptune mushroom caps and everyone were impressed with their choices. Dinner included prime rib that was cooked to perfection and I would absolutely return for the prune rib. There were steaks and lobster with no complaints as it they cooked to perfection.
The only negative was the birthday dessert was the Billie miner pie and although it was amazing i would have liked to have the option to select something else as for me I'm not a chocolate person.
Thank you for making my birthday dinner a success. This type of service I will return
Edited March 24 thank you to The Keg Canada for reaching out and following up. Our information was passed to the manager of the Lethbridge restaurant. The customer service was superb and they went above and beyond.
We did give them another try and customer service was excellent. I tried the pork ribs they were good and tender. My husband tried the steak and unfortunately the steak was about the same as the previous visit we had. We both like ours will done and he will eat it slightly pink and where the meat was pink it was tender and on the outside pieces where it was well done it was chewy.
The previous conversation with the manager was the sirloin is a less expensive cut off meat and maybe we need to try another cut. Trying another cut would be fabulous if the price was not so high. When you pay $43 for a 12 oz steak I would think it would not be chewy. Perhaps if the keg is wanting everyone to have an amazing steak they need to remove the sirloin from the menu and not offer it or tell the people that the sirloin is not recommended for a well done steak.
Original post For the price, the steak could have been more tender. It was dry and chewy. The service was good but the steak was not good...
Read moreDecided to enjoy a nice dinner @ The Keg for a date night and I came away pretty confused as to why people seem to love this restaurant.
First off, the positives. We really enjoyed our drinks, the cocktails we had were really delicious, my Prime Rib Slider appetizer was also good and our waiter was excellent, he did a great job and made sure we had everything we needed. The environment was also very nice, modern and clean (we were in the lounge) and we had a very nice corner table.
Unfortunately though, the main reason for my low 2 star rating was the quality of the food.. I have eaten at The Keg many times in the past, with family and friends at both at this location as well as in other cities in Alberta and the food I had at this most recent visit was pretty bad.. I ordered The Keg Burger, and it was by far the most charred, overcooked and bland tasting burger I've ever had. I hate to say this, but I've had better burgers from fast food chains. The best part of my meal that day was probably the fries, and that's not a great thing considering this was at The Keg. My S/O did enjoy her Prime Rib sandwich a bit more, but she still was a bit perplexed by how bad my burger was after trying just a bite. Looking back at it I should of brought my concerns up to our waiter, but I really hate sending food back to the kitchen as I've had bad experiences from other restaurants in the past after sending food back.
I know The Keg is a Steakhouse first and foremost, but I would still expect them to be able to get a burger right, especially with the prices The Keg demands for their meals. I came away from our dinner date quite disappointed, skipped on dessert, and I'm not sure I will be back anytime soon, at least to...
Read moreJanuary 5, 2023 I am not one to complain at a restaurant but to go to a reputable steakhouse steak and 3 of your table of 8 steaks cooked wrong and a film on the bearnaise sauce.... Appetizers were as great other then they took 45 mins to get to our table. 1.5 hrs to get our meals. Med rare, came out med well. Med rare, came out well. Med rare prime rib, came out rare and grey on bottom from sitting on warming station. The waiter was great in asking if we wanted new steaks but it took 1.5 hrs at this point so we were not willing to wait another 1/2 hr. The waiter relayed our concerns and was back at our table with a comp (3 appetizers and 4 desserts) within 20 mins. The manager finally made it to our table after an hour with an excuse of staff called in sick today and we are busy(it's cold and flue season, schedule accordingly)....sorry hunny but you should have showed up at our table with an apron on if you are understaffed! To pay $50 plate to have your steak over cooked because of staff shortage and be comped a couple applies and dessert. Own your mistakes and treat your customers with the respect you would like to receive, the meals that were wrong should have been comped!... Oh and when a child orders vanilla ice cream don't show up with some sort of swift ice cream just tell them you don't have it! We never order dessert at a restaurant. You may as well told right then to never come back. Lethbridge Keg lost 3 families...
