We have been coming to the Relay Restaurant for a few years. We love to support local and it was always a nice atmosphere. The ladies that work there are always kind and provide great service. The prices are fantastic and the food is great. HOWEVER, there must have been an ownership or management change recently. We went on Saturday morning for breakfast. We saw our usual waitress but was served by someone new. The owner/manager went up to our usual waitress, older blond woman, and gave her grief for taking a cash payment as it was not allowed or something. We did not hear the whole conversation but he was very very rude to her in front of customers and it made us feel very uncomfortable. We were shocked as the waitress he was rude to, is the best one they have! We started to notice at that point that most of the staff had changed. I understand being busy however someone could have come to our table and apologized. Perhaps they need to stop telling people to sit wherever they like and tell people at the door there is a wait if you don’t have the staff to accommodate all the tables. We left as our 1 year old will only last so long just sitting at a table. As we left, again, not one server said a word to us or apologized. I will not...
Read moreGreat spot for breakfast or lunch. Kids loved their big plates of pancakes (about 8 x 4" pancakes!!) and crispy bacon. Large portions of good food. 2 of our group ordered the Poached Eggs & Tomatoes, which included sliced fresh tomato, a serving of cooked vegetables and a toasted English muffin. They have gluten-free bread available. One of the specials featured corned beef hash. Good coffee. Very cool decor featuring real vintage advertising and antiques. Lots of tables for 1-4 people, plus a couple of larger tables that seat 10. Excellent service from the lovely Parminder. Everything is clean and bright, including the washrooms. Plenty of parking....
