Tom's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Lower Sackville

THE FOOD HERE IS AWESOME! Me and my gf stopped in on our way home from hiking in windsor and it was hands down one of the best meals I have ever paid money for! Our server was such a friendly, efficient woman!

We had wings to start and I had the Smokehouse Burger, she had the tzatziki burger. Both were absolutely incredible. The wings were probably the best wings I've had in Halifax (trust me, I love chicken wings) massive and crispy with a generous coating of sauce. They came out piping hot (I burned my mouth on them, oops!) Possibly the best wings in the city, shame they don't have wing night. They had a nice crunchy, crispy coating and were juicy as hell.

The burgers were to die for as well, everything from the bun, to how they were dressed was absolutely on point. They used brioche buns and they weren't the heavy, doughy kind. They were grill toasted so they had that nice crunch when you bit into them. The tzatziki burger came with tons of feta and tzatziki sauce and that combination was delicious. My smokehouse had cheese, lots of bacon, barbeque sauce AND mayo with dusted onions. They were huge, 2 patty beasts and were insanely filling. It's nice that they dressed the buns with lots of toppings. Too often you get burgers that just have a little bit of sauce resulting in a dry burger buns. We also had gravy with our fries, we ordered one each but could have shared one. They gravy was nice and peppery as well and was a really great addition to the fries.

Our server was one of the friendliest we have had and didn't treat us like just another table. She was chatty and really spoke highly of her co workers and kitchen crew which was nice as I am a former kitchen worker myself. She refilled my root beer without asking and our food must have been run literally as soon as it was ready because everything came out super hot. She even told us about a great deal on a weekend breakfast buffet for $14

Overall, I will be returning to Tom's in the near future. I will bring a few people with me because this place is definitely worth checking out. Do yourself a favour and at least try...

After a long day at the hospital yesterday March 7 2022 my friend and I stopped in at Tom’s @ 4:30 to have supper. I wheeled my friend in, to be greeted with a breath of fresh air and their name is Carolyn. Carolyn is a person who knows customer service and has it down pat. Tom’s are very fortunate to have Carolyn as an employee. They are so friendly and almost knows what you want before you know yourself. After we ordered my friend and I were talking about how each of us have been to Tom’s with our family’s at different times. My family has been having family gatherings there for years. We don’t get together very often but when we do we all travel to meet there. We have had up to 13 members show up travelling from Canning, New Minas, Windsor and the HRM to this restaurant. My friend use to take his wife there prior to her passing a little over a yr ago and said he has always liked Tom’s. I know we have not ever had a bad experience there. Ok so now here our meals come and wow, to say it was DELICIOUS would be an understatement. I had the best fresh garden salad with a crispy chicken breast sandwich and let me tell you it is a real chicken breast with a light crispy coating that will make your mouth water. My friend had chicken wings with fall off of the pork ribs, along with fries and he loved it. He loved it so much that he put some on a napkin and put it in his pocket... why??? Because he wanted to share it with his love of his life, you got it his fur baby dog Willie. So thank you Carolyn and all for the great meal...

This has been my go to favorite place for years....until yesterday. My mother and I frequently (4 - 5 times a month) visit Toms for dinner. Always had wonderful service and fabulous food. My mom brought in her Tim hortons coffee yesterday rather than leave it in the hot car and has done this numerous times and was told its no problem. Well the young lady who greeted and seated us yesterday was not so nice. While I was in the restroom, she came over to my mother and told her she either had to pour her coffee in a mug or she was taking it and dumping it. She was extremely rude about it and when my mother said I will set it aside and not drink it the girl again said No, you cannot have it here , I will have to dump it and walked away. Now if she had kindly stated that my mother cannot have it there she would have taken it back outside. Not the case, the girl was very abrupt and rude. Yes its from another place but like I said many times she brought it in and was always allowed, she even asked the first couple times. When I returned from the restroom my mother was upset and embarrassed,so of course we got up and left...did not even get to order. This was unacceptable behavior on the part of the young lady....and if she is going to be a hostess in a restaurant maybe she needs to learn how to treat people....Saturday September 22 at about 3pm...I would like to continue coming to Toms, but after this...
