I hate writing bad reviews because operating restaurants these days is not easy and very challenges especially now but I just had to share my thoughts and experience i had at this place.
We were two people who visited Ose sushi at 8pm this past Monday. At the entrance the waitress told us that they were closing in 30 mins (8:30) and we couldn't order the all you can eat menu. That was fine as we were starving and we just wanted some great sushi and asian dishes quickly.
All I can say is that the only thing that was good about this place was the waitress. She was nice and polite also every fast and hard working considering she was alone serving take out and dine in customers. That was the only good thing about the place.
Sure I'm spoiled being from Montreal and our city having the most amazing sushi places but in NO WAY can a place like this serve this terrible sushi and get away with charging that much. First the plating - serving us old and cracked dishes? Ok, then the three rolls of sushi we ordered were unproperly rolled and falling apart. Looking at the dynamite roll, it looked like it was fried to death. It literally looked like a hard brown crisp bacon strip. The other sushi's (kamakaze and avocado roll) were all falling apart and had absolutely had no taste.
Then the pad thai and the peanut butter chicken came and we expected something a little better but nope. It was just as awful starting with the Pad thai that tasted like "Lean cuisine" microwave stuff and then we tried the peanut butter chicken. Tasted like a sauce of some sort but nothing with peanut butter in it that's for sure. Also that chicken was so dry....Just so disappointing.
Did we eat it all? Yep because unlike Montreal - every thing closes early so we had to eat it or starve for the night.
Spending 80$ on this was really frustrating as nothing was good and it's upsetting that they was no passion put in to any dish they served us. Also this is coming from a non picky person especially with sushi but if I'm spending almost 100$ (with tip) I expect much better.
This is was a terrible food experience and like I said, I hate writing bad reviews and im sorry to the management but this place needs to step up their game because it was awful. Not just one dish or one roll of sushi...all the 5 items I ordered!
Sorry for the English review as I didn't have time to translate it but i just wanted to let you all know my opinion of this place. Also I hope this restaurant and owners will see this review and take it as way to get better. Maybe then I would come back one day.
Just frustrated that a place can serve stuff like this. Hope for the best...
Read moreI'm from Montreal and I am used to being spoilt with good food options especially sushi. I was not a picky eater until I went to this restaurant.
The Thai soup was decent, I managed to finish it. The nigri sushis made with beef and smoked salmon were off. The rice has too much vinegar and the beef and salmon looks like it comes from a kid toy playset. The taste was off! I almost choked on the beef because it was hard to bite into it and swallow it. My date's general Tao was decent but it looked off and the rice served was cold. My tuna poke bowl were tasteless and barely edible. They also added some kind of cheese Maki with BBQ sauce that taste awful combined. The peanut sauce provided taste like medicine... Where do they get those ingredients ?
I'm not sure who gives good reviews here... I'm pretty sure it is to offset the truth about this restaurant. It was the worst dining experience I had in my life and I don't get that many bad experiences... I'm pretty forgiving but this restaurant made such bad Asian food... It is an insult to my wallet.
The server was good and definitely look for another place to work to get better tips because the...
Read moreI put 3 stars because of the following: Sushi were poorly rolled, when picking them up with chopsticks they would fall apart. The batter of the sushi was soft instead of the normal crispy batter you expect from fried sushi. Salmon nigiri were made out of smoked salmon instead of fresh salmon. Nigiri all together had way too much rice.
Other point regarding something else than the food itself is the price. Kind of expensive for the size and quality of sushi you get.
Normally, the best sushi place are run by Japanese people that are proud of their culture and make authentic sushi. I personally think it doesn't help that the place is lacking...
