On a Friday night we visit this nice restaurant for the first time. Using the open table application was very easy. We took our places and we first choose our wine based on the advice of the very nice waitress. We took calamari as a appetizer. We looked at each other with the first bite. The calamari well cooked and the small siding sauce was amazing. Enjoying the food, the wine and the chef was close by in this open concept kitchen to see him prepare our next dish. The personal was very quick and professional to make sure everything was joyful for us. The main dish was a real delight to see but even tasted again amazing. We thanked the chef for his amazing cooking and we will come back any time we will be into the town. Great food and friendly professional staff. Thank you so much

Very cute place and quiet in the afternoon. My brother and father got the soup and fish and chips. They only had one vegetarian option but it was risotto so I enjoyed it. The service was nice and fast enough. The portion sizes were on the small side but my party was full by the end so it didn't matter! The food is rich and flavourful, it's a good place if you're looking for a fancy lunch with a nice glass of wine.

I recently stopped by this café, and all we had was coffee, but let me tell you, it was amazing! The atmosphere was cozy, the coffee was fantastic, and the staff were really friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and in need of a caffeine fix!

The pretty high prices asked in this restaurant mean that clients can and should have pretty high expectations. We did have pretty high expectations, but unfortunately the quality of the food and service just didn't quite meet them. My wife ordered lamb, which was very tender, but lacking on the rich taste of lamb. I ordered a steak "medium-pink" (medium-rosé) , which seemed to baffle the waitress who asked in return "medium-bloody" (medium-saignant) ? I replied that I didn't want it bloody or raw, just.. Pink (rosé). She ended up taking the order as "medium-bloody" anyway, and I ended up with a $30 steak that was a lot more raw than I like, that was quite "rubbery" and somewhat tasteless. Also, with a good 15+ minutes of waiting just for a piece of pie (with my normally patient kid starting to lose his patience), paired with a waitress that wasn't too friendly nor attentive to the clients needs, I can't say that the service was as good as it should have been. The 2 stars are actually for the sides served with the meat, which were very good. One star off for the tasteless meat (I'm sorry to say that I ate my steak more out of spite then joy) and another star off for the so-so service. In short, at this price we expected a treat and came out of there quite disappointed, so the value for the price explains the 3rd star off. Once again, I'm sorry for this low rating, but I just can't justify anything higher at this...

We visited Taverne 1855 on our first night in Magog and were seated on the back terrasse. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff, particularly a gentleman who appeared to be the owner or manager, was warm and welcoming. He made an effort to engage with customers.

Unfortunately, the service from our assigned waitress was disappointing. We waited over 20 minutes before she acknowledged us, and during that time we were not offered water, menus, or utensils. She seemed overwhelmed, though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy and she only had a few tables to manage.

We started with the fried calamari, which was brought by another staff member who noticed we still had no utensils or napkins. We also had to remind our waitress about our drinks, to which she replied, “Oh, I thought I brought them.”

When the main dishes arrived, we were pleased with the food. My husband enjoyed his burger, and my daughter and I really liked the bavette. However, there was a mix-up with my son’s order. Instead of the regular poutine from the kids’ menu, the chef mistakenly prepared the duck poutine. My son is five, so understandably he wouldn’t eat it. We asked for the correct dish, and thankfully it was fixed a few minutes later.

All in all, the food was very good, but the service from our waitress ...... seemed like a lack of experience more than anything. Oh, and we never did...
