CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice — Restaurant in Markham

Poor customer service at this location. They placed my order incorrectly. Therefore making the incorrect drink. Upon receiving the drink I indicated I ordered the milk tea option .. not the milk option. They proceeded to say it’s too late and that I’d have to pay for a new drink in order to get the drink I actually ordered to begin with. I’m very reasonable and understand how there could’ve been miscommunication and they may not have heard me correctly. But they did not care to fix this error. Why should I have to pay for an additional drink when it was their mistake to begin with. Then they proceeded to speak in Mandarin instead of English so who knows what they were saying.. they could have been talking smack for all I know. I guess it’s my fault for not double checking the order before paying.. but I shouldn’t have to micromanage their workers to ensure that they are doing their jobs correctly.

So now I’m stuck with a drink I don’t want.. wasted my money. There’s no way I’m going to give them any more money after them being so unapologetic. They tried to convince me that this incorrect drink is so good and that they love it so much. Then they could’ve drank it and made me a new one if they loved it so much. Most places would make me the correct drink or at least give me some sort of discount for the mistake.

Coco Fresh has opened up shop close to the TD Bank in Markham Town Square. Today (September 11) is their soft opening. They were still painting the exterior of the store but the inside of the shop is pretty much complete. There are signs indicating capacity limits in the store. They have hand sanitizer available, and physical distancing stickers on the floor.

The menu is the same as other Coco Fresh shops, including best sellers such as pearl milk tea, sago taro milk tea, 2 ladies, 3 guys, and bubble gaga. I ordered a bubble gaga, 50% sugar, less ice, which only comes in large size. Staff were friendly and helpful. The tapioca balls were perfectly chewy and sweetened. There was a strong and refreshing passionfruit flavour with actual passionfruit and seeds in the drink. The 50% sugar was still a bit sweet for my taste, so I'll try 30% sugar next time.

Finally! A bubble tea shop in Markham Town Square! This weekend (September 11-12) they are offering a special where if you buy any large drink, you get a coupon for a free drink of any size. The coupon expires September 30 but it can be used the same day...

I am disheartened to write this review after my visit to this Coco bubble tea shop this afternoon at 2, which was marred by an extremely unpleasant customer service experience. The staff member, an Asian lady, displayed an attitude that was far from welcoming. Her responses to carried a tone of impatience and disinterest, making me feel unwelcome and rushed. However, my experience took a positive turn thanks to another staff member, an Indian male, who assisted me with my order. He took the time to ensure that my order was exactly as I wanted, which was greatly appreciated. While the bubble tea itself was satisfactory, the overall experience was a rollercoaster due to the varying quality of customer service. I hope the management recognizes the value of consistently good customer service and addresses the issues with staff training to ensure all customers feel...
