We were in the neighborhood and saw this new dessert place that took over the old Munchies unit. It’s been a while since my last review and I felt I had to post this and warn others about this place. The first impression when we went in was pretty good. The decor and atmosphere looked good and clean but the waiter sat us in a crowded area. Our group was sat next to another table that was about 3 feet between us. During this time of pandemic it was such a bad decision by the waiter, and to an extent the owner - since it’s a new restaurant they should have made the table spacing more spacious. We asked to be seated to another spot but the waiter hesitated before letting us move to another table. When we were ready to order there was only one waiter that can place the order; this was the same host/waiter who seated us. For a place this big they need more staffing to take orders.
The drinking cups they gave us had a bad smell on it, something like spoiled food or bad breath; Not something we expected to smell before we enjoy our desserts. The waitress only gave our table one knife but several forks even though all ordered the mango pillow dessert. I guess she expected us to share the fork.... The food came quickly but it was not worth the hype; Nothing more than a piece of syrup cooked mango that’s wrapped with whipped cream in a crepe.
Overall the experience was lack lustre with the dining service dampening our entire experience; the tone of the waiter sounded like they didn’t want our business. Their price is on the higher end so you expect their service to reflect the higher price but that’s not in this case. Definitely won’t recommend this to others and will warn them to stay away. I only wish I could leave them zero stars. edit Not sure if I wanted to dignify a response to the company as they have asked for details of my experience that night. It should be enough just for them to acknowledge the issue, and rectify it. Why would it matter which day we visited the place? It seems the management team and the whole company and franchise team missed the point. From the post it’s obvious that we visited before the closure of restaurant dine-in and it was during the pandemic. So no matter what, the seating arrangement in the establishment should be made such that there is at least a distance of 6 feet away from other diners. I didn’t post any pictures of the arrangement as there were other diners around to protect everyone’s privacy. You can easily remedy this by taking a measuring tape and find out the minimum distance between the tables, not something you need my input on. If you need pictures you can find them from other reviewers and you’ll notice the seating in the far right. Again this is a management or company decision/oversight that should have been dealt with before they opened for business during this pandemic. Also, the decision to have only one staff take food orders for dine-in and take-out orders, seat patrons, and collect payment again is not any one staff members fault but an ill-conceived decision from the owner and management. Fix these major issues first before trying to deal with other issues. Lastly the company’s response to have me reply to them directly is again insulting and insincere. Which reminded me of their host when he said “sorry for the long wait” before taking our order all the while not sounding one bit sincere. What made it worse was that he didn’t notice us the whole time we were seated even though we were only a few feet away from him. What the company’s reply should have been is “we have rectified the issue and will ensure the seating is adequately spaced, and we have enough staff to take orders from both dine-in and take-out customers.” And, no my experience was not great, it...

𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗬, I love you to the 𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗡 and back so you would never 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗧 me, would you?
-[𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗪𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗬 𝗧𝗜𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗨 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗘𝗦𝗘 𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗕𝗘𝗧] $𝟳.𝟵𝟵 🍓Just LOOK at that presentation and look at how 🍓strawberry-forward🍓 it was (as it should be given the title of the dessert) 🧀The ingredients all complimented each other really well (strawberry sorbet, strawberry slices, sponge cake, and corn flakes) 🍨Definitely a dessert you could easily share with another individual ✨
-[𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗧 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡/𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗧𝗘𝗔] $𝟱.𝟵𝟵 🍊Holy moly, they are not joking around when it comes to PACKING their menu items with whatever they describe it with because I would venture a guess to say that their tea had more 🍊🍎🍓 than tea in it (in a good way) 🍵I totally forgot to ask for 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘳 in this drink like I usually would have so it's on me that I found it to be too sweet (I probably could have asked for 0% 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 if that was an option) 🍎Super refreshing on those hot summer days
-[𝗗𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗡 𝗣𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗦 - 𝟮𝗽𝗰𝘀] $𝟭𝟬.𝟵𝟵 👑The above two items were actually ones I received through a 𝙔𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙀𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩 but I always feel so terrible when I visit a business and I don't buy anything, hence the purchase of these durian pillows 👑I personally 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝘂𝗽 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 so the taste and smell don't faze me at all - in fact, I LOVE IT😅 👑Very packed with 👑durian👑 which is great because that's exactly what anyone would want (as long as they were actually out looking for durian to eat)
The service I got was 𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗚! As I felt a little awkward dining by myself, I asked to pay for what I got as soon as I ordered because I wanted to be able to just pick up and leave without needing to get the server's attention again. He was more than happy to accommodate this request and he checked in on me every so often to make sure I was enjoying what I got :D
Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for some Hong Kong style desserts or really, if you're just looking for a delicious treat (be it dining in or getting...
Read moreI recently called to order an item and picked it up. Afterwards when I opened the bag, I realized they gave me a completely different item (the "mango pillow") which was also more expensive than what I originally wanted. I initially didn't think it was a big deal, however after trying the dessert it was way too heavy on the cream and I ended up tossing the rest of it.
When I called to complain about the issue, initially the lady said I can come back later and they will give me what I ordered. However, she called back soon after and stated that the other worker confirmed that I wanted the "mango pillow". I told her that I asked for the "mango pomelo sago sweet soup" which I specifically confirmed. There is absolutely no way I would've ordered the "mango pillow" when I don't even know WHAT that is. When I called to place my order it seemed like the lady did not know what I specifically wanted, and I made sure to reiterate multiple times that I wanted the "mango pomelo sago sweet soup". After expressing this to the other worker, she then stated that I need to bring back what I ordered, and I told her I had already tossed it. She said that unfortunately they cannot do anything because the worker confirmed I wanted the "mango pillow" and the most they can do is give me 10% off if I come the next day. I personally know what I said, and I do not understand how a word with so many syllables, "mango pomelo sago sweet soup", can be mistaken for "mango pillow".
I personally think it is unacceptable that the worker did not admit to their mistake and only offered a measly 10% "discount" instead of rightfully giving me what I ordered. I do not think it is right to treat your customers like this over an item that is literally less than 9 dollars. I am extremely disappointed as I had a good experience the previous time I visited here which was also the reason why I decided to come back. However, I think it is safe to say I will never be revisiting this...
