Ca' Del Baio, Chardonnay, Barbaresco, Italy
Delicately floral and fruity, with notes of citrus and exotic fruits with a slightly mineral finish.
Deltetto, Arneis, Langhe, Italy
This grape needs to be more well known and i will do my best to get it out there! Why don't you know about this gape? Well it is was almost extinct and is very rare. It also has very famous neighbours lol (barolo, barbaresco) and they take a lot of attention away from this amazing little rascal. Arneis in piemtontese means "little rascal" because it is actually a difficult grape to grow hence only the best grow it! Fruity on the nose with notes of exotic fruits and red apple. Hints of floral notes and fresh acidity.
Feudi Di San Gregorio Falangina, Campania, Italy
Intense and persistent with sensations of delicate white flowers and fruit. Anyone who has been to italy knows this one very well!
E Rosso, Barbera, Piemonte, Italy, 1litre Format
Cherries, blackberries, cranberries, thyme, and an ever present strawberry note shine all over this wine. Unfiltered, no sulphites, organic, all natural, the fruit is pure and tastes like it. The palate follows the nose closely with that same strawberry streak, joined by heaps of red fruit, smoked tobacco, and fresh herbs. Call this a special wine, a weekday wine, or whatever you want kind of wine...This is good, fun stuff you need to try by the glass or by the 1 litre bottle. A definite crowd pleaser.
Gigi Rosso Barbara D'alba Superiore, Piedmont, Italy, 2015
Bouquet of forest flowers and dried herbs, fresh fruit and a refreshing bite of almonds. Black cherry and tar flavors that linger.

I took my gf here on saturday to celebrate her bday. When I was doing research, I found out that this was one of the only restaurants in the GTA serving tableside pasta in the cheese wheel. Calling in to the restaurant, I had been told that the chef usually does the cheese wheel pasta on saturday night so you can imagine my immense disappointment when I found out upon asking, that the chef was actually out of town on THIS particular saturday night when I wanted my gf to experience something special. Anyways, we were sat right away upon arrival and the servers hung our coats on hooks near the entrance (within visual range). We never actually got a designated server (idk if the hostess forgot about us or not) but throughout the night we took it upon ourselves to flag down a very young gentleman named Jordan who provided great service to us throughout the night. Seafood platter for 2: This was actually a lot of food. I was skeptical when we ordered it but it came with a ton of seafood which justified the near $40 price. The seafood was also cooked well. Everything was so tender. The calamari rings in particular. And the battering was light and crispy. We also really liked the fresh citrus dip on the side that the platter came with. Dipping the seafood really helped to cut back on the richness of the batter. Ravioli de maddalena: So this dish was actually a lil disappointing. It was supposed to be the signature pasta of the resto but aside from the nice flavour of the veal (which my gf didn't particularly enjoy either since she said it tasted like lamb), the pasta was too thick and the simple butter sauce didn't coat the noodles well enough. Fettuccine carbonara: We both unanimously agreed that my dish tasted superior. The sauce clung to the noodles way better. It was more rich and full bodied. The noodles were actually al dente and had better chew. The egg yolk on top was a nice added touch. Tiramisu: WOW. This dessert was a showstopper for sure. Most legit italian restos will have a really delicious, homemade tiramisu and this place was no exception. It was just as good as the tiramisu we had at Il Postino on Main St Unionville. Absolutely sublime. Would come back but only if I knew the chef was in the house that night making the tableside cheese wheel pasta!

First time here and this place is amazing! The staff are friendly and informative (many of the words on the menu are unknown to us). They have a good selection of items on the touchless menu. It’s located in an old home built in 1890. The parking is on a gravel area in the back of the restaurant or there’s parking on the street. The complementary bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Pre-sliced with butter, oil and vinegar provided. Just perfect. We ordered: RAVIOLI DI MADALENA $27 “slow roasted 8 hour veal roast, butter, sage, parmigiana this dish is very near and dear to our hearts. it was taught to us a by a wonderful woman by the name of madalena in piemonte, italy. she housed many of the chefs going to the local chef school in her home town of asti; one of them was mario folco.” Absolutely delicious with a good amount of veal stuffed in each mini ravioli. Meat was tender and juicy. WILD MUSHROOM RAVIOLI $26 “house made ravioli, forest mushrooms, white truffle, parmigiana, crisped prosciutto, in a parmigiana cream sauce”. Never had mushroom ravioli before and this dish sets the bar. The ravioli is thin and flat so you don’t feel like all your eating is dough. Each ravioli has a good chunk of mushroom, the cream sauce paired with the crispy prosciutto complements the each other and elevates the dish as a whole. One of THE best ravioli dishes I’ve ever had. FETTUCCINE CARBONARA $28 “house made fettuccine, smoked speck prosciutto, farm fresh egg, spinach, parmigiana cream sauce” Feedback from my son “Yummy, yummy, yum. Hee hee, delicious. Tummy feel good.” Daily special Frie Roasted Pesto Salmon
With Amalfi lemon Spaghetti $36 “Awesome flavours. Can really taste the lemony pesto without it being over powering. Pasion Fruit Bomba $12 Did not know what a bomba is so decided to give it a try. Such an incredible dessert. An explosion of passion fruit goodness. Would highly recommended trying this dessert. Thank you for such a lovely family dinner. We will definitely be back.

February 2024 update: unfortunately lowering my rating due to an unfortunate experience of food poisoning. We came here for dinner and ordered the fried seafood platter for the table and several entrees. The pasta dishes were seasoned and cooked well but there was an excessive amount of oil that it pooled at the bottom of the plate (especially in the fettuccine di Piemonte - see photo) which not only looked unappetizing but may have been one of the contributors to the upset stomach afterwords. The more problematic dish turned out to be the chicken parmigiana. It tasted fine enough but almost as soon as we got home, my partner who ate this dish had a stomach ache and ended up with food poisoning for the next day. He hasn't had any other food before or after that meal so we're quite certain it was something in his dish. ~~~ I brought my mom here for her birthday and we had a great time. The service was quick and friendly, and the patio was nice. We ordered a bruschetta crostini appetizer (part of their specials) but it turns out they weren't serving it that night. They defaulted to a tomato, parmesan crisp and spring mix salad and let us keep it since they were going to toss it anyways. And they made us another bruschetta dish that more closely resembled what we originally ordered. We also got the wild mushroom ravioli and Sofia Mia pizza. Both were delicious. There isn't much ravioli filling but the mushroom flavour was reinforced by their truffle oil cream sauce. This dish could've been a bit hotter in temperature. The Sofia Mia was delicious. I would order that again and again. Loved the sweetness of the figs with peppery arugula and salty crispy prosciutto. The pizza dough is also amazing. They also use a brick oven!

First time at Folcos with my wife and our last. I don't care how fresh their pasta is but a 1hr and 45min wait till our entrees were served is absolutely ridiculous. On top of the very long wait my lasagna was over cooked like mush, very disappointing. My wife ordered their rack of lamb which she enjoyed very much so but definitely not worth the 1hr and 45min wait. We read their reviews and noticed a consistent complaint in regards to the very long wait but we thought we give it a try and see for ourselves. Well let me tell you this is a common problem at this restaurant because we sat and watched other tables around us whom were already there well before us waiting impatiently for their entrees as well. However, there were two tables with groups of 8 and more who didn't seem to mind the long wait because they found the owner entertaining but we didn't find him amusing at all. Seems like this is his way to smooch with his guest to make up for his slow kitchen. If you have other plans after dinner then this is not the place for you but if you don't mind spending close to 3hrs for an overpriced Italian dinner then go ahead and be fooled. Mario the owner came by our table to let us know that our food will be out shortly which was 1hr and 39min after we were seated. At that point I had to let him know that this is unacceptable but he rudely tried to justify the long wait by telling us that the lamb is made from scratch and it takes 35min to prepare after the appetizers were sereved. We were seated at 8pm, antipasto came out at 8:25pm, and then our entrees were served at 9:45pm.. absolutely unacceptable, especially when 90% of the tables are taken by reservations only. Good food but way over priced and totally not worth the extremely long wait. Can find much better Italian food at much more reasonable prices with normal serving times. As an owner, Mario, is rude and arrogant and not once did he or our waitress come by during our dinner to ask if everything was fine. Avoid going here at all costs.. wasted our...
