Food was okay, overall definitely over priced. The server "demands" for tip. Left $15 on table she follows us and asks for $45. Not coming back to this restaurant, I recommend you not to as well.
replying to your comment there: no, that was not the case and here is the detail I missed out. The server did not ask if there was anything wrong with the service, she came straight up and literally said "$15 is not enough, you "need" to pay 15% for the tip" so we asked how much the 15% would be, and that's how we paid $45.
it was a $300 bill which is fine and we were willing to pay celebrating our special occasion. However, it did not meet our expectation of $300 worth food - which can also be backed up with the previous 1-star review 3 months ago "poor quality and service compared to the price" and quite a few more in the past. Considering your quality of food and service, filling up the tea twice for our family and being served overpriced food "we already are paying for", $15 was sufficient. I wonder if you even talked to your server before replying to this. whether if you are trying to cover up for your server or she's not telling you the truth, clearly you've been quite rude in google review replies. I hope this shows your future customers something.
original reply in case the owner edits the comment: I apologize if you're going to write a review please be as detailed as possible. You and your family had a bill of $380.00 and you left $15 which is why my server spoke to you and your family to see if we did anything wrong yesterday. She did not ask for $45 tip, your mother asked what 15% tip would be which is why $45 was amount that was given. Yes that's also fine as well we'd rather you not return to our establishment either if this is how you'll try to spin the narrative to make us the bad ones for having to cook and clean up after your family for dine-in...
Read moreVery disappointed in this place. I want to give it a higher rating because the food was good but the service is so incredibly bad that I cannot in good conscience give it any higher than a 1. We ordered a medium platter that was meant for 3 people but unfortunately several mishaps happened. For the sashimi, they gave us a tiny plate of perilla and lettuce leaves that were clearly meant for two people. When we asked for more, the server refused and said that that the perilla and lettuce leaves were meant for the other customers and that we would have to wait (we never got the extra leaves). Then they only brought out two bowls of rice. When we asked for another bowl (since the meal is meant for more than two people), the waiter said that he would charge us extra. Not to mention that we had to wait 30 minutes after our flounder sashimi was served for the next dish. After that, we had to wait another 20 minutes for the last meal (a measly small spicy sashimi salad that was more meant for banchan than a meal course). Let's not forget to mention that they forgot that we were supposed to get the spicy sashimi salad with our meal; we had to remind the waiter about our order. When we complained about the terrible service to the chef, they offered a 10 dollar discount as long as we didn't get the spicy sashimi salad. If you're charging premium prices (189.99 plus tax) then we would expect premium service along with it, and we did not get it. Your service is an embarrassment and needs...
Read moreGreat food at competitive prices. Not the cheapest sushi around, but you get what you pay for!
The cocktail selection is inspired and made with fresh ingredients - you can truly tell the difference as soon as you taste it! The mojito I ordered didn't have any annoying mint floating around in it, so it was very easy to drink. Careful how many you knock back, as they don't hold back on their pours either :)
The rolls we ordered were beautifully constructed and all the garnish was entirely edible. I'd argue that the sprouts they used to garnish the Green Dragon Roll (seasonally available pea shoots) actually work to enhance the complex, well balanced flavours of the dish. A+ recommendation!
I personally always order an Unagi Donburi as a measure of any new sushi restaurant I try. Suffice it to say, this was the best tasting, most competitively priced, and all around top quality Unagi Donburi I've ever had - and I've been to quite a few Unagi houses in Japan. The Unagi alone is reason enough to visit, I genuinely can't wait to try the other menu items as time goes on!
Overall, the dishes were freshly prepared, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and every aspect of my evening was catered to by a friendly and highly competent, non-intrusive front of house staff. I had an excellent date night with the wife, and will certainly be visiting again in the...
