I wanted to try Miga Restaurant - the Missisauga location but somehow I always missed it. Funny enough a month ago I saw Miga on Yonge, but they were also closed for reno 😋 Finally I caught them a couple of weeks ago.
There is something about me: I care greatly about the ambience of a restaurant more than the food. I pay a lot of attention to details. I’d say I liked how everything was positioned & arranged, such as lighting fixtures, plants & mirrors, curtains as partition, bamboo doors, porcelain ivory pots as decorative touch etc I found that the space is sufficiently designed to which creates this chic & unique vibe. It’s one of a kind beauty that is attractive but draws you in because of the warm tones it gives.
Now onto the food 🥘 I have to be honest, it’s on a pricey side for combo, regular dishes are not bad but I didn’t know the size. After some debate, I’d thought I’d go with the premium A5 wagyu beef set which contains salad, kimchi pancake, bulgogi noodles, gochu shrimps and the meat (Japanese wagyu, angus, pork belly) with rice.
It took a while for the combo to be prepared and brought out. I’d expect that as well due to the price and quality of the order.
It was worth it, in my opinion, to simply put. It’s presented like fine cuisine. I liked the presentation and amount of dedication in the food. I personally loved the bulgogi noodles and pork belly. I tried 1 piece of wagyu beef whose texture is intensely soft & buttery. It dissolved in my mouth without much effort 😍 Sot bap was cooked to perfect. I loved it with the meat (which is the whole purpose of Sot bap - Korean pot rice to consume with steak)
Customer service is amazing. There are high level of attentiveness & professionalism. Staff checked on us often to make sure we got everything we needed or if the food was okay. The bbq grill was changed to 3 times and as soon as something was finished, staff took away quickly. I think manager also went up to chat with us. Thus, we were very well taken cared of on that day ❤️
I liked the experience and how it made me feel. I’d rate it 10/10 or 5* For me I was pretty full. Though my friend would want the portion to be up slightly. Therefore it really depends on each person’s appetite. But you know what they say, good things come in small package 😉
Oh the gelato was great. Some reviewer said it’s too sweet. I think it’s just right. And the texture…is yummy 😋 it’s sort of jelly like but most of all, I liked how it smells and tastes
At last the manager told me there are drinks and dessert menu that I should check out next...
Read moreVery exciting and elevated Korean BBQ spot in Thornhill that I need to come back to! Came here for a family dinner on a Thursday night and really enjoyed the experience.
Firstly, the banchan was extremely good with each traditional side dish executed really well. Seasoning was on point for each dish! 5/5 for the banchan.
As an appetizer, we got the Gochu Shrimp which was very tasty. Sauce was sweet and spicy and the batter was not too thick but crispy. The shrimps themselves could have been larger but at the dish’s price point, it was definitely worth trying. 4/5 on this one.
For the meat, we ordered 2 orders of the Fresh Korean Beef Short Rib. The meat quality was excellent and the quantity filled the 3 of us a lot. We were planning on getting the Naeng Myron but were too full by the end. This dish was a 4.5/5.
We also got the dwenjanf jiggae which was very good 5/5.
Service was attentive and kind. Speed of service was good and the manager made sure we had an enjoyable experience after a few improvement areas were shared. However, this is typical with a new restaurant / location.
Overall, looking forward to coming back with friends or a special occasion for an elevated KBBQ night. But also really want to try their non BBQ menu which also looks...
Read moreI had an incredible experience at Miga Thornhill! The ambience and atmosphere are truly next level — the restaurant is absolutely stunning, with beautiful decor that makes for a warm and elegant dining environment.
The service was outstanding from start to finish. Every server we encountered was friendly, attentive, and professional. A special shoutout to Rami, the manager, who went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time. Her kindness and attention to detail made the experience even more memorable.
Also another special shout out!! Our server Soyoung (Estela) was super kind and attentive as well. She made us feel like we were having a premium service - always checking on us, and also explaining the dishes. She is super sweet and definitely memorable.
The food was simply top quality! Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The fact that they offer halal options is a total game changer, making it an inclusive spot for so many people who often have limited choices. I’m especially happy that they had bulgogi as that’s something I’ve struggled finding halal.
If you're looking for a spot with great food, beautiful ambiance, and stellar service, Miga Thornhill is it....
