Went to the restaurant just to feel very disrespected, flustered, chaotic, and very taken advantage of. I went with a larger group of people whom all only spoke English. Staff were not friendly, the atmosphere was chaotic, kept placing small appetizers (crunchy looking pastry) on our table. We originally asked what that is, that we did not order it. The lady kept waving her hand. We said we do not want it, we did not order, please take it away. She kept insisting, so we thought maybe it was complimentary, and asked her if it was complimentary and that is why she kept forcibly insisting on us taking it. she nodded her head and placed the plate on our table. throughout the meal, they kept coming by and placing more and more on our table.
our one friend came late, and he asked what that was, stating that another Chinese restaurant had done the same thing and charged him for it. So, when we asked the waitress again, she said no charge and to take it. Just the price of those alone were an additional $80. These pastry things were not even on the menu and have no price next to them.
When ordering what we actually wanted, we asked about portion. ex: how many people is this dish for. And they would say it's for one or two people, meanwhile the portion was MUCH larger. We had SO much food leftover, with a $600 bill for 15 people. The food was okay, but not worth $600 with that type of service.
we spoke to manager and explained everything. So he took off $20 from the "dessert pastry thing", and reduced our tip from %18 to %10. But then, came back to our table to complain and accuse of us "accusing his business of being dishonest, etc etc".
we could not do anything, we paid and left. But never going back. I hope no one else undergoes this experience.. it looks like some of the reviews were positive, so we were hoping for a nice lunch experience, but unfortunately had to go through this...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars for service, I would. On a Monday afternoon and with a reservation, we had a funeral banquet. I have never in my life gotten such bad service. Especially considering the circumstances. We thought we would have 5 tables but ended with 6 and told them we didn’t expect it, but it happens. It’s a FUNERAL. We apologized for springing it on them but honestly, it’s a restaurant. They should be able to accommodate just one extra table.
I asked for water for my kids 3 times and no response. Then finally the response was: I don’t even have time to get everything your party needs. I will get it for you when I get it for you! If they had responded and said ok the first couple times, I wouldn’t have kept asking. Acknowledging your customer goes a long way.
As I was getting food with my chopsticks, the waitress started spinning the lazy Susan as I was doing it. Seriously?!
Then I went to talk to pay my respects and the waiter said: YOU’RE in my way to clear the table. Maybe try “excuse me…” rude much? I honestly think they assumed I was a random guest, but even if I was, the behaviour was uncalled for. I’m the immediate family of the deceased. HAVE SOME RESPECT.
Finally my aunt had her bag on the table and was told: YOUR BAG IS IN MY WAY. MOVE IT.
The language from this staff. They need serious training in hospitality. I speak Cantonese fluently and I am translating exactly their tone and what they said.
Thank goodness I’m from out of town because I will never ever go there again.
You may think I’m being sensitive considering the circumstances and yes, I am. It still does not warrant this rude service. The food was decent but there are so many other restaurants where I can spend my money. I suggest you do the same. If this is how they treat customers to their faces, I can’t speak to what they do or say behind...
Read moreThe food wasn't bad, but there just wasn't enough to make up for the insane price of $750 for 12 people. The lobster was just small... barely anything inside. They tried to trick us into thinking that they were generous by giving us 2 lobsters instead of 1, but the lobsters were tiny and we barely had enough to feed everyone!
The service is very very bad. I asked for water about 5 times to 5 different people, but they all forgot. After waiting for 20 minutes, I decided to get up and get the water myself, only to be told rudely to sit down and wait for them to bring it to our table. I had to remind them that I had asked 5 people and they never came with the water, and I would have just liked to take the water back to the my table myself. They then reluctantly handed over the water and I took it back to my table. I also noticed that the waiters sleep on the chairs when they are on their breaks, and when they're done, they don't even put the chairs back in their original spots! Completely ridiculous!
However, with all those negatives out of the way, this restaurant is still in pretty good shape, even though it is pretty old. The toilets are clean and the entire place isn't very run down, which is good, but it doesn't excuse the horrible service and the quantity of the food.
In conclusion, I did not feel as if I got my moneys worth and I wouldn't recommend...
