I have never been so disappointing at an establishment before as much as Pablo. Came in today to the one located inside the PATH and ordered an iced matcha latee. First off, the staff was really uninterested in what you wanted to order. I asked for their advice and what is a popular item and they specifically said the matcha latee is good. So i decided to order it with no modification. I stand around for another good 5 minutes and then someone begins to make the drink, mind you.. no one else ordered anything before me and they were not making any drinks as i waited for mine. As they start to make the drink, i noticed him take a huge cup of milk and maybe 1tsp of matcha powder and he starts mixing both items together.. trying to swift and trying to swirl the ingredients together... once it was done, they poured it in a full glass of ice and said here is the matcha latee. I looked at it and it DIDNT even have a hint of GREEN in colour. I asked them are you sure this is my latee? And the gentleman said yes. I asked where is the matcha in this, and he giggles and said oh the milk covered it entirely. I then said i don't think this is my drink and he once again reiterate it was. I walk off looking disappointed and was even more furious after drinking, it was essentially how i predicted. PLAIN MILK. I paid almost 5$ to drink a small cup of iced Milk. which later became watered down because of all the ice in the cup. Pablo you really disappointed me in your establishment, although your cheesetarts are OK i would not return because of the lack of customer service...
Read moreWorth the hype. Been here 4 times since it opened. Have recommended it to countless people during the first month. We always had the cheese soft serve and it was rich and delicious and not too sweet, just perfect. The original chesse tart, the crust is thin and flaky pastry to hold the delicious creamy yet light chesse filling. However.... Today Sunday 8:00pm, there was no line. Got the chesse soft serve again and it was very watery and not flavorful, not at all like it was the first week. The cheese tart was still really good and creamy but this time the glaze was lopsided, not like last 3x we had it, may be jus an off day. Quality is not consistent and going down and it has not even been 2 months yet since they opened. Also, very stressful and annoying when they claimed not to accept credit cards after I was about to place my order when it does NOT say clearly they do not accept credit cards by the front door, or I would have brought cash with me. I was about to walk out and get money from the car, when the manager agreed to open a different register to accept my credit card. Also very off putting, is... the production crew is on display, but looks like none of them seem happy to be working there, the female crew was also very unkempt. As much as the product was good... I now hesitate to go back and recommend it. Hope you guys step up your game or you won't be there for long. Tsujiri and Uncle Tetsu seem to be more well managed with not exactly the same products but...
Read moreSo Cheese tart here isn't even worth the price. When I purchased it and brought back home, all the jam was on the side of the tart despite carrying it with care, part of the crust became so soggy and honestly the custard cheese part is so runny that one can wonder if it is even cooked through. On top of all that, service was mediocre, workers who were making the tart was handling the baking stuff without sincere care for the foods to be served to customers, the top layer part sprinkle was done with very laboured way by one of the "chef" who I wonder even have a license to be cooking for these desert.
I've had a much better service and products from the cheese tart shop close to here at Uncle Tetsu's, they were for sure cooked through with much more deep texture and richness to the actual cheese, not like runny custard fluff that they did obviously with the lack of professionalism and care for the products they were making.
Now that I've had both tarts, I can say that I will never come back to here for cheese tart but I'll go back to Uncle Tetsu's. It could be just a difference of taste buds, but once the bad products and customer service is done for the first time, it'll stick. And if it is the Japanese products that they are serving, they should put so much more care like any other great Japanese brands such as Muji or UNIQLO.
Avoid this place...
