I visited Project Sushi (ProS) last night.
I ordered a Maki Sushi Combo, a Seafood ramen and a katshu don.
For Maki, the filling is packed inside of a thin layer of rice, which personally I think it is a good thing, because who want to have a chunk of rice like those sold in super market. Avocado was very fresh in my maki. For sushi, one thing impressed me is their tamago sushi. They made their own egg, not from a bag. Also, the rice amount was right and fresh sashimi on top. They also, decorated the sushi with chopped herb, adding extra visual and flavour. You won’t find this anywhere. They used real fresh leaf to decorate their Maki-Sushi plate. Nowadays, most restauran0st use plastic “leaf”. My seafood ramen was good as well. Rich soup with a lot of sea food, (Zealander mussel, shrimp (generous amount and naruto) They also have bamboo shoot too (other will use a lot of corn to bulk it up.) Noodle choice is good and al dente. If the soup can go light in salt, it will be better. My katshu don has good amount of sauce, make the rice tasty. Ordinary katshu don only have egg, pork chop and onion, ProS added mushroom to the ordinary. It gave the rice an extra layer of flavour.
This resturant is one of the finest japanese resturant I visited recently. The staffs are very friendly and passionated. I recommend to everyone who read this review and support...
Read moreProject Sushi is one of the newest opening Japanese restaurant in Markham. We were there on a Sat night at 8pm and surprisingly it is relatively empty. We got seated quickly with the menu. When we took a look, the price is quite reasonable. We ordered 2 seafood udon soup, 2 salmon tataki, two orders of botan ebi, one medium sashimi and sushi platter. Guess what, the bill included tax with 10% VIP discount came out to be $100. Wow! The size and quality of botan ebi is so memorable, a wow factor! Fresh and big size, definitely worth $8 for 3 pieces. The seafood udon soup has a whole grilled salmon teriyaki, 3 prawn, fish cakes and 2 mussels. It is no doubt that the seafood quality is better than most of the other Japanese restaurant. The medium platter is $45, with 65 pieces. Only one draw back is I prefer they have a few more pieces of sashimi instead of the rolls. Only my preference because I like sashimi more than rolls. This is a must try Japanese...
Read moreHaven't dine in since pandemic and just craving for sushi so we went today (we dined there since they started). We stood there for a few minutes no one greet us (no servers at all) and a guy at the sushi bar looked at us then head down continue what he was doing. Then another group came in and finally a guy we believe probably the Manager or owner showed up and asked the later group how many they have when we were there first. I mean if you see a bunch of people waiting you should have asked who came in first, truly the later group jumped the queue and lucky there are a few empty tables otherwise we would have started a fight tonight. These people don't know how to run a business even though the guy at the sushi bar is not a server but at least tell the owner or Manager there are customers waiting...
