I believe I left a 5 star review months ago about this location was the best one amongst the others I have been to and sadly, yesterday I went there (my last visit was a few months ago) and the atmosphere was completely different. I felt stressed and I could feel that from the staff as well, esp from the barista. I ordered a short flat white and she made a wrong one - she made a tall flat white and asked me if I want that free one (the one she made wrong). I stated I wanted a short flat white and if it's a free one, I could take that one as well (if she is going to throw it away, why waste it right?) I saw her didn't give me that free one so I asked again, she explained if I take that short flat white, I can't take tall flat white, THANK YOU."- I was speechless, it was you who asked me several times about that wrong flat white if I want it or not, and to be honest it was you who did it wrong and didn't read the label correctly! I have been to this location a lot of times and I always ordered a short. As far as I know in Starbucks usually the staff would give away the wrong one and if you wouldn't do the same, it is fine with me because it's not me wasting food, it's you. I don't care about that extra drink, I care about how the coffee tastes and your work attitude. I re-write this review because it is so sad to see my most favorite Starbucks location - that positive vibe that I got from this place is gone. I guess this is why more people are going to specialty coffee places for coffee - you may not get the service, but at least you get some...
Read moreOne of the only stores that attempt to make eye contact while yelling “Welcome!”s. Other stores that do it are either fake or don’t even look at you when saying it. I dropped by coincidentally with my mom from the States this past Tuesday the 30th and there were a few super friendly girls working! There was a white lady in a red apron that greeted me so genuinely while cleaning the sugar stand and customizes her greetings so they aren’t always “Welcome” “Welcome” “Welcome”. She goes “Hey guys” & “How are ya?”s to people walking in. This Asian girl tried talking to me and my mom and seemed like she was just a truly outgoing people person because her small talk seemed so true and sounded like stuff you’d talk to about real friends with and not fake. It was really funny because she kept going on her tippy toes to hear us because she was a little shorter. Something you’d do to someone you’re talking to in real life. Lots of eye contact. Nods. Good body language. Apologized when convo got cut off if she got sidetracked. Another Asian girl with dyed hair came out a little later and she was so nice - apologized for the wait when I didn’t even wait that long and asked if i wanted hot sauce with my egg bites because she said a lot of customers like the bites with it. So nice! There was a taller guy that didn’t hesitate to clean a spill near the washrooms and apologized for the store running out of honey. Dude was also cool - offered me a sample of some yellow loaf and I’ve been getting...
Read moreDear Starbucks Customer Service,
Customers come into the store expecting enjoying their coffee, but instead they leave with their day ruined.
I’m writing to formally file a complaint about a disappointing experience I had at your store, involving a female barista named G**. The customer service I received was far below the standard I’ve come to expect from Starbucks.
I had mistakenly ordered a hot drink. I completely understand that once it’s made, it can’t be remade as cold — that part is reasonable. However, I clearly stated that since the second drink hadn’t been started yet, I would appreciate it if that one could be made cold instead. It was a simple clarification, not a complaint.
To my surprise, the barista G* responded very defensively and accused me of yelling at her. And another shorter female barista who made the hot latte was rude as well. This was both inaccurate and uncalled for. I was calm and respectful the entire time. Being told I was yelling — when I was simply making a reasonable request — felt insulting and dismissive.
The situation was handled poorly and left me feeling unwelcome, unfairly treated and discriminated.
I would appreciate it if this incident could be looked into, and I hope appropriate steps are taken to ensure customers are treated with respect and professionalism...
