Walked in to the store nobody seemed to be at the hostess area, not greeted by anyone at the restaurant there was just the order station, figured you can just order and its ok to sit at one of the tables to eat. Did not know there were servers for the dining hall at this place as i saw nobody moving around. Came by this place while waiting for my car to be serviced, definately wouldnt have ordered at the take out area if someone asked if i wanted to dine here or would order takeout, which nobody asked or cared about. Figured it was like one of those mcdonald or harvey’s chains considering the service level. When i asked the girl who took my order she asked permission to the server taking care of the hall, which i apologized for and sat down. Some old guy sitting in the corner looking like hes half asleep watching something on his phone standing on salt and pepper behind it does not even have the decency to approach me for a conversation looks at me points at ears to take off my earphones starts giving me attitude why are you sitting here its for dine in only giving very abrupt attitude. I gave an explanation and asked what his problem was when staff said it was ok. He responded by saying his problem is that he is the manager here and went back to watching something on his phone because i ended up just putting back my earphones to ignore him lolI do hate leaving negative reviews like this for a restaurant, food was decent and business can be better if management was to be improved. Not sure if it is his real name but on the way out when i asked his name he was questioning didnt seem to want to give his name but apparently his name was mori, upper management...
Read moreI made a pick up order on UberEats. I went to pick up and there was no one at either counter to help me. I saw my order sitting on the counter, so I grabbed it. Ended up being just half of my order. So I had to go to the kitchen entrance to call for someone to come assist me. Some guy who i'm assuming is the manager said I am not supposed to take my order without asking for help.
I told him "how would I know, there's no sign saying anything. My (half) order was sitting on the counter, no one was there to help me."
I'm obviously going to take my order instead of waiting for someone. He said there's always someone to help (which there wasn't). And he also went on saying how people always make the same mistake as me, even sometimes delivery drivers take the incomplete order. Then the customer ends up calling to complain.
I questioned him, "You know, if it's happening all the time, don't you think you should put up a sign saying to ask for assistance when picking up an order?" He said no, there's no need to put up a sign. You guys should know the procedure.
I just ended the conversation and let him win. There was no point talking sense into someone who thinks everyone else is the problem and not them. They're just going to keep having the same issue because there's never anyone at the front to help you during lunch hours. I wasn't the first person to encounter this issue, and I won't be the last.
Turns out the other half of my order was in an insulated bag because it's warm food. So at least that's the...
Read moreThe manager, who I believe is of Iranian or Afghan descent, was notably rude and unprofessional towards my boyfriend. When my boyfriend went to order a Double Leg Meal, the manager did not greet him or come out from behind the counter. He informed my boyfriend that Double Leg Meals were unavailable and could only offer a leg or half a chicken. When my boyfriend asked why Double Leg Meals weren’t available, the manager dismissed him rudely.
I then called the head office to place the same order, and they confirmed that a Double Leg Meal should be possible if individual legs or half chickens were available. The representative who answered the call was very professional and even laughed at the situation, taking the exact order my boyfriend had requested.
When I returned 15 minutes later to pick up the order, I asked the manager if it was indeed a Double Leg Meal. He stated that he was very accommodating and would make adjustments for customers, which was recorded. My boyfriend came in after I paid and confronted the manager, who claimed he was just doing his job and that the Double Leg Meal wasn’t available when my boyfriend first came in but was available shortly after.
This experience was confusing and disappointing, especially considering our long-term patronage at Swiss Chalet. The customer service at this location leaves much to be desired. Attached is a photo of...
