Hattendo 八天堂 — Restaurant in Markham

have been to the Baldwin location, yorkdale location, and now this location! this ones definitely my favourite because it’s in Markham! so much closer to home and so happy their in the area now! started off with the hojicha latte, which was a nice change from the other big tea, match. nice tea flavour and not too sweet which was really nice! Buns were awesome as usual and had the seasonal flavours of yuzu and hazelnut and a third one with the melon bun. Super soft texture to the bun and a nice smooth cream on the inside! Right now, they have a grand opening special of buying 5 buns and get 1 free! definitely coming back to try the matcha pudding (fun fact: their matcha is legit! Imported from Japan!) and some japanese sandos! for best selection, come early as they are new to Markham and can sell out fast! Great service and attendant was super friendly! Great job overall and welcome to Markham!

Came today there was young girl working at the moment, first time had the bad experience at Hattendo，not sure that girl is new or not in her mood, she was bad in English and so rude! I order the matcha almond tofu pudding, she spoke to me so loud said"has nut!" Excuse me?of course i know, but why would you talk to your customer another way like "this pudding with nut, are u okay for that?" I said i know, just one pls, she has no patient also,once collected my credit card payment, i said thank u, and she's no response.

it was only 12 at noon, how she can continue to work next few hours. Customer buy desserts for treat themselves for happy not for moody,also when i back to the office there is not even a spoon inside,how can i trusted her?she was not even ask with her bad attitude, it's also my fault,usually Hattendo staffs would ask or include with the take out.wish next customer...

I ordered 12 buns through a delivery app hoping to gift them as a thank you treat only to find they no longer (or just didn’t for me) used a box packaging and just a plain paper bag. On top of this, it appears they spent absolutely no time or care packaging the product causing each bun to deform by being crushed and its contents spilling out all over each other (unsure how much was the shops fault and how much was the drivers) I was unable to even salvage one and tossed the entire bag away, leaving me empty handed (again, these were supposed to be a treat)

I did however receive a a few phone calls that I was unable to pick up and refund (photo evidence provided to the store through the app) so I do commend them for trying to do the right thing. In my opinion, the quality of this establishment fell off a cliff.
