IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES...BEWARE OF THIS BAKERY!!!
Shame, shame, shame on this bakery, its workers and owners. I cannot believe the experience my family had in dealing with this place. Not only did they carelessly lie about the ingredients in their product and placed my son in grave danger, but also blatantly denied their wrongdoing and instead turned the blame against us.
Family asked for a cake with no nuts and were sold a cake that clearly contained nuts. A 7 year old clearly tasted a 'nutella' taste and warned those allergic to nuts not to eat it. If my son and niece (both severely allergic to nuts) had both consumed this, the night would've taken a bad turn with possible anaphylactic reactions and a trip to the ER.
When called back the bakery to further inquire of the ingredients of their chocolate mousse cake, we were informed that the chef had recently changed ingredients and it DID indeed contain hazelnuts. When asked for our money back, they then argued technicality rather than admission of wrongdoing or being apologetic. Instead they said the person who bought the cake had stated "no nuts" and the cake had hazelnuts. Are you serious?! I can't believe the sheer ignorance of the people that run/own this place. Not sure how you have been around for as long as you have. But continue to treat your customers this way, something terrible will eventually happen. Someone's life is not worth the extra $75+ dollars that you earned. Hope this experience weighs heavily on your consciences.

Read moreThis is the second time I went to this bakery. I have been wanting to go for quite some time but I don't live in the area. So finally I had the chance and tried it. I went on a Friday and Saturday.
I am a big fan of the cookie base egg tarts. Most places only make the flakey egg tarts. So it was a great find when this place offers both. My young kids are picky eaters but they loved the cookie base egg tarts and to be honest my family does as well and my elderly parents too! It is our go to place for cookie based egg tarts from now on.
As for the breads or buns, I can't say I like them only because I haven't tried them all and I am very picky when it comes to buns. I tried the egg tarts the day I got them. The egg tarts aren't bland at all, just enough sweetness; and have a good crunch on the cookie part of the tart. I have tried their almond croissant and butter croissant as well but I had them the day after my purchase. The almond one you can definitely taste and smell the almond paste in the pastry. As for the butter one it is good but it isn't crispy since it has been a day old from the date of purchase.
The atmosphere looks bright and refreshing, and the place...
Read moreMy husband stopped by and picked up some buns from The Dough while running errands at Metro Square; we'd seen signs for the new bakery a while back and were curious to try now that it's open. We were pleasantly surprised! The buns were very soft and fluffy, and there was a decent amount of filling in both the savoury and sweet buns.
While many of the buns are similar to the ones you'd see at a traditional Chinese bakery, they had some subtle differences. For example, our son really enjoyed the cheese sausage bun because it was cheesy on the outside and on the inside. Nothing groundbreaking, but still nice to see a modern twist added to the traditional buns, while still making sure they're well-executed (far too many places now become popular based on hype/Instagram-worthiness).
We were happy with what we tried (it's a step up from the old bakery that used to occupy the space), and we plan to go back again to try other buns!
Edit: It seems like it's best to go earlier in the day. They close at 8pm, but when we went around 5-6pm on a Monday, most buns were cleared out!
Their egg tarts (they have both pie and flaky crust egg tarts available) are...
