Toro Toro Sushi and Poke — Restaurant in Markham

Not a "food influencer" and not paid for this review lol.

Walked in for takeout, just figured I wanted to try a couple items. I couldn't find a special salmon roll without shrimp in it so one of the managers(?) came and helped recommend some rolls - great service and very much appreciated! I ordered the salmon aburi and the unagi+tamago special roll. The aburi has wonderfully seasoned rice and fresh salmon on top - perhaps a little bit too much rice as my bite felt 'thick' but the flavour was fantastic for sure. The unagi roll was also amazing as it was topped off with potato bits for an extra crunch - perhaps I'm biased because I love tamago but the flavours worked well and it was not too heavy at all.

It was relatively busy on a Wednesday evening but it was a nice vibe for sure. 4 stars for atmosphere since I didn't sit in but the wait for the takeout was about 15 min and I had no issues at all.

An exceptional experience from start to finish! Toro Toro Sushi and Poke is a gem that consistently impresses. The modern and clean vibe of the restaurant makes it a pleasure to dine in.

The star of the show is, without a doubt, the sushi. The tasting boxes are a fantastic way to experience a variety of fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented sushi, including sashimi, rolls, and torched sushi. Every piece was a delight, and the quality is truly top-notch. It's clear that there is a high level of care and artistry put into the presentation.

A special thanks to Chef Thien, whose culinary expertise shines through in every bite. His passion for creating delicious and innovative dishes is evident and is a huge part of what makes this restaurant so special. If you're a sushi lover, Toro Toro Sushi and Poke is a must-try. The decor of the restaurant was fancy and refined to match the food. Every detail was planned thoroughly from the togo box to the decor ect. I got the sharable sushi box for two. Some of the sushi peices were exceptionally delightful rich in smokey flavours, different textures, new fishes I haven't tried and it aestheticly pleasing. Even the rice was very tasty and fresh. Unfortunately, im not a big fan of raw fish so i was on the fence about few of the items in the box but to my surprise I enjoyed some of the raw fishes they had in the mixed box.
