XCAKE 隨心意 — Restaurant in Markham

This is our go-to spot for crepe cakes! They’re very cheap for the quality and in comparison to many other cafes/bakeries that sell crepe cakes. We’ve tried the Oreo, mango and Earl grey crepe cake, and they were all so delicious. The cakes were not too sweet which suited our taste. The store is in the underground parking lot, and once you enter, there’s the sweet aroma of cake.

The crepe cake is very delicate with many layers as pictured. The mango crepe cake was great for mango lovers as there was a lot of fresh mango. The earl grey crepe cake was great as well because there was a strong tea flavour and it wasn’t too sweet. There was also an Earl grey jelly on the top layer of the cake. We come here every birthday to order crepe cakes because although crepe cakes are usually the most expensive, X-Cake sells delicious crepe cakes for an affordable price.

We came back for the earl grey crepe cake again and it was delicious as usual. We also tried the mango purple rice crepe cake which was not too sweet, and the purple rice added a unique flavour...

X-cafe has been on my list to go for awhile. Finally got the chance to drop by. As soon as you step in, you can see the owners hard at work making some beautiful cakes! Had the strawberry cake box and the mango mille crepe cake. First of all the fruits, they were super fresh and loved that little bit of sweetness that goes alongside it all! Then the cream, light and airy like the Chinese cakes from the grocery store, just next level though! It’s a tiny place and it can get pretty pricey, but definitely a place to try out at least once! The star off is due to it being pretty expensive and due to the pandemic, I’m sure not the entire selection of take home items are available, but still happy with my choices! English isn’t their strong point, but loved the fact that they try to communicate as best as possible! Great job!

Brought a durian millie crepe box and a 5 inch osmanthus and pear millie crepe cake last week. My family love the durian crepe box. However, my friends and I are a little disappointed with the osmanthus and pear.

We were excited about the unique flavour and expecting osmanthus and pear taste throughout the layers of the crepes. We were wrong - Only on the top of the cake has a layer of gelatin with osmanthus and pear. That layer is wonderful, just hope the flavoir would spread throughout the whole cake.

In addition, they only accept cash when I was about to pay. The person who took my order over the phone could have told me so. Luckily, I have enough cash on me.

Anyways. I would recommend the durian crepe box but I would not order the osmanthus...
