For a smaller McDonald's with a welcoming small-town feel, this is the McD's for you!
We dropped by as we were passing through to Collingwood & what a delight to hear the customers exchanging amiable small-talk with the employees & hear them address each other on a first-name basis.
It made me wish that we lived here so that we too could become regulars and become "part of the family."
Upon arrival, as someone who had already travelled an hour or more by car & had who had already consumed one extra-large coffee, I was in need of the restroom & a very obliging customer seeing me at the door of the locked loo, took it upon herself & asked an employee to please unlock the door remotely.
It was very kind of her as it saved me the need to return to the front counter & wait my turn to ask for such a favour.
The customer addressed the employee by name & I overheard some friendly banter as well between customers & staff & it was so refreshing & delightful.
We ordered the chicken sandwich with bacon as a treat & it was super hot (as in fresh) & super delicious. I would never have thought to put bacon on chicken, but by golly, it works - some magical chemical reaction, perhaps? Lol
As a McD's coffee addict, I truly enjoyed my fresh & hot coffee.
The fries were okay but nothing to get excited about as they were not anywhere near hot and probably more on the tepid side, but we could overlook it because, meh, they are fries.
Overall, this location gets 5 stars. Great staff and great customers.
PS
I tried the banana cookie - delicious! Reminded me of the sugar cookies that I bake...

Ah, McDonald's – where the staff's friendliness could warm even the coldest of Big Macs, and they nail your order with the precision of a synchronized fry flip. It's like having your own personal cheering squad every time you step up to the counter.
However, while the service is as reliable as your morning coffee addiction, the menu here is about as adventurous as a chicken nugget on a safari. Compared to its cousins in Collingwood and Owen Sound, it's like this McDonald's missed the memo on culinary excitement. But hey, if you're here for the classics, you're in for a treat – just don't expect any gourmet surprises.
Now, let's dive into the enigma of the condiments. On the McDonald's app, it's a condiment carnival – free peanut butter and jam for all! But roll up to the Drive-Thru, and suddenly it's like trying to negotiate a peace treaty with a chicken McNugget. It's a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside a burger bun – why the interrogation over a dollop of jam? Do they think we're hoarding it for the condiment apocalypse? It's enough to make you wonder if they've got a condiment budget crisis on their hands.
In summary, McDonald's delivers on friendly service and order accuracy, but beware the curious case of condiment confusion. And remember, if you're ever in need of a laugh, just ask for extra peanut butter with your nuggets – it's a comedy routine...
Read moreThe blonde cashier who was working today at 9:20 pm was so rude and she gave us attitude when we asked for fresh fries because she gave us a batch that has probably been sitting there for how long now. She wasn’t very welcoming and gave us attitude as soon as we walked in. It wasn’t even busy. She gave us new fries and took the old ones but she snatched it and shoved it in the trash in such a rude manner! Very disappointing! Never going back to this store again! As a customer who worked in retail this definitely not the way to treat customers! Especially when we asked nicely since we paid for it. If it was free fine but it wasn’t! I strongly advise the manager or district manager teach their employees how to treat customers. This is the first ever McDonald’s in Canada that I have experienced something like this and I go to McDonald’s quite a bit. Going to Collingwood McDonald’s...
