Denny's — Restaurant in Medicine Hat

We arrived shortly after 9 am for an anniversary breakfast. We were seated fairly quickly. Our server did not come to our table until after at least 10 minutes of waiting time. She took our order and brought our waters right away and let us know the coffee was brewing. When brought, it was spilled all over the cup and we didn't have napkins available to clean it up. She brought our cutlery which had a napkin, so I used that. When our order arrived in good time, it was the wrong order. She returned it and came back shorty with the correct order. She did not come back to see how our food was or if we needed anything else. My husband's steak was over done. We tried to get the attention of any waitress as we had run out of coffee. It got to the point where I almost got up to serve myself and my husband. He finished his meal, and she did not come back again until she thought we were ready for the bill, but we were still waiting for our first refill of coffee. It seemed she was the only waitress who made the coffee, because she was the only one we saw doing that job, so needless to say, we had to wait again while more brewed. Typically when visiting this restaurant, we are in and out within 45 minutes. Today, with the poor service, it was an hour and a quarter. I don't fully blame the waitress, although she could have done better, I feel the management dropped the ball and did not support their waitresses who were clearly VERY busy. I will likely give some other restaurants my business for awhile before returning to this one and when I do return, it will be on a slow day...

We have been here several times for breakfast and it used to be great but the past few times have not been good at all. Today was the worst service we have ever received. We ordered out breakfast from our waitress then didn't see her again. Some other girl dropped off our food then promptly walked away without giving us a second to see if we needed anything else. She walked away, and then we saw my order was completely wrong and syrup was missing for the pancakes. No one came back to our table or made eye contact so we could flag someone over. After 20 minutes I finally got up to find my waitress at the front till, told her my order was wrong, I didn't have syrup to eat my pancakes and part of my husband's order was missing as well. By this time my food was very cold and we did not want to wait for a new meal to be made for me, so we asked it just be taken off the bill as I didn't eat it. The waitress then brings over the bill to our table and says the manager refused to take off my meal as she won't be giving us "a free meal". Not sure how it's a free meal when nothing was touched and the order was wrong to begin with. After telling the waitress we will absolutely not be paying for a wrong meal that wasn't eaten it was finally taken off the bill. Very unprofessional behavior from a manager and quite shocking there was no effort on her part to come over and talk to us herself or attempt to make things right/apologize. Guess we will be finding a new breakfast spot that cares about...

I have ordered from Denny's 'The Burger Den' three times through Skip the Dishes. 2/3 of these have been a waste of money.

The first time I ordered, I ordered the beyond baja burger & they sent me the chicken Baja burger. Stupid, annoying, but at least I can understand the mistake. They saw Baja, assumed chicken & didn't read the order properly.

I gave them a second chance. I ordered again. I got another beyond Baja burger and this time I specifically asked in the comments for a VEGETARIAN version. This was tasty & I enjoyed it. No complaints here!

So today my partner & I ordered from them a third time. I ordered the veggie Baja burger and again specifically noted in the comments that I need the vegetarian one.

My partner ordered the bacon one.

What did we get ? BOTH burgers SLATHERED in bacon. The bacon had gotten on the fries too. That isn't a genuine mistake - couldn't have been because I'd been very careful to specify I needed the vegetarian one. I couldn't eat any of my meal.

I understand mistakes happen which is why - I gave them a second chance after the first time they made a mistake. But this is the second time from the SAME RESTAURANT I've recieved an inedible order, and this second time doesn't even make sense? Even on the chicken Baja burger there isn't any bacon!

Do they think it's funny? Is this someones idea of a joke? I know some people think they're being hilarious when they try to trick vegetarians into eating meat, but it's 100% not okay.

I won't be ordering...
