I’ve been a loyal customer at the Altawana Starbucks for years, and I’ve always appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. However, since the new management took over this year, things have noticeably changed—and not for the better.
While I understand that new staff are still learning and finding their rhythm, what’s deeply concerning is the behavior of the current manager. On two separate occasions, I’ve witnessed her yelling at employees in front of customers, getting right in their faces, and creating an incredibly uncomfortable environment. This kind of behavior is unprofessional, inappropriate, and downright toxic—especially for new staff who are clearly trying their best.
It’s disappointing to see such poor leadership from someone who should be setting a positive example. The manager’s conduct does not reflect the Starbucks values of respect, support, and community. Read moreFirst of all I just want to shout out chante! A barista at this location! She is an amazing human being, not just a great barista. Now I ride a mobility scooter and I got caught in a downpour on my way home. I was desperately trying to get my scooter inside because it is not waterproof! This was the closest place. I came in cold and close to shivering and soaking wet. It was near closing for chante and her coworkers but they welcomed me inside. Chante offered and then made me a tea, a medium too, not a small, and for free!! I must add!! I didn't have a dime or my debit card on me. I just wanna say thank you so much chante and crew for hosting me and giving myself and my scooter a safe haven out of the rain until my grandma could come pick me up! Thank you chante! Read moreWell Starbucks really needs to offer zero stars as an option, because this location really deserves it! My husband and I went in behind another couple who were quickly served for a "to go" order. The young blonde girl who took their order then went back to begin making their drinks...totally ignoring us standing in line. Another young girl was walking around wiping down counters, a third older, blonde lady carried a box from the back, put it on the counter directly in front of us and walked away. A fourth, young lady with dark hair, who was working on a mobile order put the two drinks on the mobile pick up mat right beside us, turned and walked back to the prep area and began to clean up! Not once in the 10 minutes that we stood there were we even acknowledged or asked for our order by ANY of the four employees! (And there were no cars in the drive through at any time....) Absolutely pathetic ...I really hope the owner/manager reads this because I would love to share the photos of the employees with them....
