Cocos chicken and sushi — Restaurant in Merritt

On this occasion we didn’t actually get to eat. We entered for lunch and when acknowledged by the server was told to sit at a table. The place was not full. So we sat at another table intending to ask if it was alright when the server came by. She came close to our table after a few minutes and threw the menus onto the table so hard they made a load smack and the other table looked over. The server said nothing and left, she hadn’t even actually come directly to the table. We were a bit taken aback especially when the server began to complain to a customer who was paying her bill about the people not sitting where she told them. This was loud enough for ourselves and the other two tables in the restaurant to hear. A few minutes later the server came and told us very curtly that we couldn’t sit there because she had reservations. She was fuming mad. She told us we could sit at another table. This all would have been fine if it had t been for the rudeness and the shaming she attempted to put on us. We love cocos and the food is lovely. This experience was terrible. We left and...

:( I have never experiences such bad staff at a place, and i don't mean a server who was a little rude or tired customer service workers, I genuinely mean hate and vitriol level.

I have gone here a few times and this was me and my partner go to sushi place for a wile, but after being treated worse and worse we decided to try other places and realized, the sushi here wile good isent the best in merit. We went to Garden Sushi over by the highway and realize the difference in quality was so high between them that we don't feel bad about never going back there, especially since it was also cheaper! If i had to rate cocos sushi's quality it would be: Slightly better then cooking at home.

I don't write reviews often, because normally i don't ever feel the need to make my voice known even when things are bad. So when a place is that hurtful that I use my 1 review every 2 years on it, you should probably stay...

THE BEST SUSHI IN TOWN!! Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Merritt. Amazing service, the staff are so great and friendly. A wonderful place to take small children, great family restaurant. Clean, and 10/10 for food presentation. The thickness of the sashimi was the largest I've ever had, and so fresh tasting. Their chicken is SO GOOD. Everything we tried was great. The portions of food are fabulous; we had plenty of leftovers to take home. I can't say enough good things about how the staff treated us and our small crazy children so well!
