Just in town for the weekend and staying at the hotel, so had no idea what to expect. The food was not bad, but not particularly good either. Fries tasted as if the fryer oil needed changing, and the salmon burger was bland. I ordered a side Caesar and got a sad plate of the chopped up romaine stems (no dark green at all) that was so under-dressed it was essentially naked. (The croutons were great! ) My friend had an avocado club which was also just ok. The "avocado" in the Avocado Club was actually just a green smear on the bread and so the sandwich (also underdressed) was kind of dry. The dining room was really busy and the two young waitresses were very nice, but over burdened with bussing tables, seating customers, (and possibly helping the dishwasher)... So even though the coffee refills were "free". Good luck getting one. The coffee, btw, (which I did manage to snag one refill on) is served in a 6oz diner cup, is an average tasting coffee, and costs 3.79$!!! When you can get a 24oz cup at McDonald's for 2.40$ ?? Really??
So, in the end, we were full, because the food wasn't inedible. The service was fine (the girls themselves were great, but under-supported by management imo) The prices (other than the ridiculously over-priced coffee) were average. So, if you're looking for a nice dining experience, going on a date or occasion, wanting something new, or even just splurging on a rare night-out... I don't recommend coming here.
But, if you just need a belly top-up, it's fine. Maybe the breakfasts...
Read moreI have eaten here a few times and been impressed, but I had one really bad experience and that colours the way I feel about this restaurant. In short, eating here made me very sick and this owed to the carelessness of the staff. I have celiac disease so I can't eat wheat. Fortunately, the restaurant has a number of 'gluten friendly' options and I have eaten these before without problem. However, I went in when it was busy. I ordered the farmer's sausage and a side of bacon. These are both listed on the menu as 'gluten friendly', however this is not the case when the restaurant is busy. Both the bacon and the sausage are deep fried, in a fryer with lots of breaded products. They would be fine if they were made on the grill. When I asked about whether these were deep-fried, the waitress said she would ask the kitchen. She returned and said they were not. I ate only a small piece of the sausage and the bacon and could immediately tell they had been deep fried. I spit them both out. The waitress later admitted she hadn't checked with the kitchen because they were 'so busy' and both presumably had passed through the fryer, the complete opposite of what the menu and she had said. She lied. And now I have diarrhea. So in short, don't eat here if you expect food made according to the menu or you expect honesty from your server. Very...

We ordered: • Braised Beef Dip Sandwich (recommend) $18.70 Subbed with a Clam Chowder $1 Extra (recommend) • Clubhouse sandwich $19 Subbed with a Poutine Extra $3.50 • Strawberry Peach Pie Slice $6.29
I loved the flavours of the Braised beef dip sandwich, the au jus was delicious and very flavourful with a nice buttered bun. The clam chowder was creamy and tasty and I like how they gave some crackers. As for the turkey club nothing to special about the deli turkey meat, was quite dry over sour dough thin bread. The poutine is new York style russet cut potatoes but they barely added any cheese curds, so I wouldn’t recommend to order these but friendly service and not to bad food. As for the strawberry peach pie, wasn’t to sour but fresh. Probably wouldn’t get that flavour again and I’ll try the apple pie but flaky crust!
Overall, Would come back to...
