Yaki Joe's Pizza — Restaurant in Merritt

Great pizza. They just got my order wrong. I started ordering the two mediums for $20 and asked if I could pay for an extra topping on each. No. So we asked for just two mediums with three toppings. Ordered a pepperoni, bacon, mushroom (Canadian) and a ham, pineapple and feta. After we heard the total we asked if the large deal for $15.50 would be better.

He typed it up and it was. We ended up with my Hawaiian (with very skimpy feta which is disappointing) and a bacon, pepperoni with cheddar cheese. No mushrooms and only about 4 pieces of bacon. The four jalapeno cheese dips we ordered ended up being out of stock at pickup but they were there when I ordered.

Overall the place is good. Quality is good. We were told it is the best local place in town and we are camping so decided to try it out. The only issue is the wrong order mixup and the sold out dips that were there thirty minutes prior plus the skimpy toppings. Will I go there or tell friends probably not. Tl;dr - the BEST tropical chicken calzone (in the world? )

This is a decades old love of this place, went to school here almost 20 years ago, came from the bar to this place with their famous tropical chicken calzone after a fun night with friends. then they randomly switched to deep fried chicken and I never touched it, here or their Kamloops location (now closed I believe) and they wouldn't substitute. I moved down here recently and was passing by, phoned to see if they still used the nasty deep fried chicken, they said no, and almost 20 years later I'm in love with pizza again. obviously it's only a few times a year treat as I'm not 20 years old anymore. But if you want to try the best tropical chicken calzone/ pizza (I am saying the world, you can say BC interior or wherever you like), come here, order a large, eat it all or save half, whatever, only your waist line will regret it. comfort food...

Do not order if you are hungry. Ordered delivery because we are not from Merritt and drove for 8 hours. Waited over an hour and phoned the restaurant, which hung up on me after a 5 minute wait on hold. Phoned back, sat on hold again and was told that the delivery guy was out on the highway so my order from 1 hour and 10 minutes ago would be delivered when he got back. What?? So my food is sitting at the restaurant getting cold and I am sitting in a hotel starving. No offer of a discount nothing. Told me it would be there shortly and that they got backed up. If they would have had the Courtesy to tell me that it would be over an hour when I ordered I could have declined to order and called elsewhere. The very least they could have done was phoned to let me know what was happening. Call...
