I stopped in to Turtle Jack's with my cousins after a round of golf. It was a bit late for lunch but way too early for dinner so it wasn't busy at all. We chose to sit inside since it was a very hot day, with very little breeze. The dining room was empty. Air conditioning! Ahhh...
Similar to other restaurants I've been to recently, their menu is available online by scanning a QR code at the table and reading it on your phone.
I wasn't very hungry so I ordered a Soup and Salad combo, with a French Onion Soup and Caesar Salad. My cousins had Fish & Chips, Blackened Chicken Wrap, and a Bacon and Cheddar Burger.
It took a little while for the food to arrive but it looked good, especially the burger. It was piled high and looked yummy! The chicken wrap looked good and so did the fish and chips.
My dish was a bit of a mixed bag. The salad was good, as expected. The soup, however, tasted a bit artificial. Was it made from soup mix? Hmmm, not sure. It was also served with toast, a bit odd, especially since there were croutons in the salad and bread in the soup.
There were a couple of other minor miscues. Our Coke was really diluted, suggesting their mix had run out. Although you could tell just by looking at it, it was still served. Our meals were served without cutlery so we had to wait a few minutes.
While the overall visit wasn't terrible, it could/should have...
Read moreOn July 27th, 2020 I attended this location with my girlfriend to enjoy a nice date night only to be disappointed... First of all we were seated in a booth right by the kitchen where we could hear the chefs screaming orders and cracking jokes. keep in mind the restaurant was quiet and there were plenty of open booths. We ordered the beef barley soup to start off. I was extremely disappointed to get my soup at room temperature and extremely oily. we ate about 1/3 of the soup and couldn't stomach the rest. by the time the server came back we lost our appetite and didn't want to order a main course when they couldn't manage to serve a soup hot. The server was nice enough to ask if we wanted anything else but at that point we were extremely disappointed and just requested the bill. She was nice enough to not charge us for the soup and apologized for the soup not being up to standard. We still left a tip for the server for trying to make a good thing out of a tough situation but I will definitely not be returning to this location. Even after leaving our stomach were still upset. We ended up going to the Erin Mills Turtle Jacks location later that night where we have gone in the past and have never been...
Read morePopped in for a quick date and drinks with an old friend of mine on my way through Milton earlier this week. Tj’s used to be the best spot to stop off the 401. Our server was Justina she was friendly and brought us food drinks and food promptly. Food was delicious, I had a Buffalo chicken wrap and house salad and my friend had a steak that he said was cooked exactly right.. went to the washroom and my friend requested the bill, while I was gone from our booth she brought the bill right over and as he reached for it she quickly pulled it away and said you can’t have it until you leave me a 5 star google review. At this time I was returning from to the table and she passes him the bill and rolls her eyes and then makes a comment that she didn’t want to ask but if one of us could just write a good review she wouldn’t get in trouble for not having enough, her once nice demeanour was not rude, snarky and sarcastic. She looks at me and asks me if I do google reviews? ..what she was doing must have been for commission. Heard her on the way out yelling across the bar to another table begging them for a review as well. Phoney, awkward, and weird.. next time we will check out Keenan’s or...
