I used to really like Boston Pizza and enjoyed going there, but the last few visits have been consistently bad. On this occasion there was a very large reservation, which I am sure contributed to our lackluster experience. It was obvious they couldn't handle 50 people at one time. The restaurant was loud and filled with crying children, we maybe should have requested to be seated in the bar, but they didn't seem to have any staff over there. Normally I would have a few glasses of wine, but nobody ever checked on us so I just had one. We weren't given any cutlery or napkins and flagged down 3 staff before we got one to finally bring us some paper napkins and one very dirty fork that she said was the last one they had available. I could forgive all of these things, given the busyness of the restaurant at the time, but the food was beyond bland. We both ordered The Big Dipper steak sandwiches, which I had never tried before but heard good things. It was cold roast beef, not steak, very dry, tasteless, and tough. We ended up packing it for home and even after I reheated with spicy mustard and added salt it didn't help much. We went there because of the outdoor patio with our small 4 month puppy, so we won't have to leave it on the car since it was more than 22 degrees Celsius plus humidity, and she would have heat stroke otherwise. The server very accommodating told us we will be able to keep her with us until any other customer arrived to the patio. So we agreed, thank her and stay, choose our meals, few minutes later another waitress brought up our food looked at the puppy and didn't say anything, we start our food and soon after an angry, rude and disgustingly racist lady came up to us screeming that dogs were not allowed on the open air patio to which we responded that we agreed with our server to take her away in the unlikely event of another customer arriving to the patio, she kept loudly insisting we should removed the dog, Wich we did, and returning to the table she threw at us boxes to go and told us to leave, since we were travelling with a Canadian person well halfway into his food and out of respect with him we stayed. So I tried it on the Ipad and I was able to get as far as the end of my order but when I tried to check out, the app started hour glassing and so I finally closed the app and reopened it and reordered and tried to check out and it started hour glassing again, but I called to find out if they delivered to my area which they didn't so I asked if I could send a taxi, they said yes. So I called the taxi to check availability and also they had told me that after I ordered, the order would be 20 minutes. So the taxi was on it's way here to pick up my gift card. Because I was still hour glassing, so I called Boston Pizza back to order on the phone and when I said what deal I wanted, they told me it was only available if I ordered online and I told them I had been hour glassing since before I called the first time and they told me that it works for everyone else and I had to order it online.
